I despute this and this doesn't outweigh the vast, vast number of bossy twats who run HOA's as if they were God.

What makes house prices plunge the most is living in an area where some nutjob can just pop round and demand you change the fence colour because you dared to pait it in the wrong shade of beige.

I know swearing is frowned upon in the US but I'd be out there giving them an entire dictionary full of new and suprising British swear words and comments about their mothers.

Absolutely spot on but HOA Gods, like Condo Strata Board Gods, do keep properties looking good.

I've never lived in an HOA neighbourhood but know a Texan that does. The place looks great and no one gets to keep wrecked cars in their front yard.
