"Here Come the Rape Police." Limbaugh Reacts to Trump's Sex Talk Scandal

"You know what the magic word, the only thing that matters in American sexual mores today is? One thing," the conservative commentator said, according to audio released by Media Matters for America. "You can do anything — the left will promote and understand and tolerate anything — as long as there is one element. Do you know what it is? Consent.

"If there is consent on both or all three or all four, however many are involved in the sex act, it's perfectly fine. Whatever it is. But if the left ever senses and smells that there's no consent in part of the equation, then here come the rape police. But consent is the magic key to the left."

That is just.....wow. I know Rush doesn't speak for Trump, but damn. How he brought himself to say those words is mind boggling.

Something said by Rush Limbaugh is now "Breaking News Main Stream Media". Terrific.

Is this rock bottom? God I hope so...:3oops:

The link leads to the Washington Post. It's a mainstream source. Your desperation to defend the indefensible notwithstanding.

Haha that's hilarious. Next time I troll a slutwalk I am totally going to incorporate some of those quotes into my sign.

I spotted that too, you beat me to posting it.

I think that stands liberals in good stead. Yeah, consent is the magic key to not being accused of rape or sexual assault. Whodathunk that? Though I'm laughing that Rush thinks he discovered a "gotcha" moment against liberals, when he just "got" himself. Being a misogynist hack can make a guy say really stupid things.

A second-hand reenactment of the Rush Limbaugh Show isn't "breaking news" no matter who is doing the reenactment. Pretending that it is is the rock bottom part.

So the rock bottom part isn't Rush "I'm a fat phony drug addict who had Elton John play at my wedding" Limbaugh complaining about how consent is needed for sexual acts, but that the article is from the Washington Post.

I hope, and I think, that these cave-troll paroxysms of Trump supporters are the death throes of a certain segment of American conservatism. Yes, there will always be the Hannty's (call and ask him), the Lardbaughs, etc. to stir the craven imaginations of the willfully ignorant, but that demographic is going to grow smaller and smaller.

I'm not even sure what he is talking about. Consent IS the magic word. What goes on between two consenting adults should be nobodys business but the people involved. If one party withholds consent then the other is engaged in sexual assault. This isn't even debatable. Its self-evident

Statements made by a member of the mainstream media who's words reach millions being reported on by a mainstream media source is news. You may not care about it, but its still news.

The rock bottom part is that this is what political discourse has sunk to. Tell me... what part of Limbaugh's remarks impact the daily lives of Americans? How does anything he says pertain to policy decisions that effect trade, energy, taxation... basically any issue where candidates may differ?

I couldn't tell you what either one of the candidates for POTUS would do about a lot of important things this nation faces because all we ever hear about is, grabbing *****s, transgenders in the bathroom, deplorables, gay wedding cakes, and on and on and on.

But the ratings are up, I guess, so there is that.

Rush is not a member of the mainstream media. He is a partisan hack conservative talk show host.

I think the issue here is what on Earth is Rush talking about. Perhaps there is a larger context that is missing, but what he said doesn't make much sense to me at all.

We keep hearing though about how high his ratings are. Apparently, when convenient, he's nothing.

Moderator's Warning:
"The Fix" is a Washington Post blog section. Post moved to proper location

The more Rush Limbaugh talks, the worse any subject gets. There is nothing good he adds to this discussion on Trump's past.

Hope is still alive. It's no longer in the Breaking News Forum.

It doesn't make much sense to me either. If I have a little ambition later, I may go to his site and listen to the audio for the whole segment in which he made the comments to see if I can figure it out. I know from past experience that he says a lot of things that sound ridiculous taken at face value but sound completely different when viewed in the broader context in which they were said. Or maybe he just blurted out something really really stupid. He's been known to do that, too.

And apparently you do not understand the difference between "hard news" and commentary.
