I've been lurking in the shadows long enough, time to start talking. As of writing this, I'm 29 years old, an Air Force brat, Eagle Scout, gamer, bit of a furry, and someone who sees themselves as a bit of a more effeminate man (or "femboy" in layman's terms), albeit a bit closeted about that last one. For the longest time I've had a lot of thoughts about some political topics festering in my mind, but was struggling to find the courage to speak, especially because it feels oddly controversial to not immediately agree with one side or the other on everything. More than likely, part of this perspective derives from having spent too much time on the internet. Like many things, I believe the internet has a lot of potential for both good and bad, and as time goes on, it feels like the negatives may be starting to outweigh the positives.
Enough on that though. Other hobbies and interests of mine include music, animation, memes, comics, and psychology (not a student, I'll admit). That last one I admit, mostly has to do with the matter and topic of discussing personality, which some my notice my username being an indicator of, "INTP" being one of the 16 "personality types" suggested by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality test. That said, yes, I do acknowledge and agree with a major criticism of the Myers-Briggs being that it regards personality traits as being a "one side or the other" matter, rather than as a spectrum. This alongside being a self-test which could also be flawed given a person's potential inability to be accurately self-aware while answering the questions. That said, I also learned of the Big 5 of psychology shortly thereafter and as time went on, I grew to realize why personality is such a difficult topic to address: while an individual may not be good at accurately reflecting on oneself, they would know more about their own life experiences than anyone else, and have more insight into their personalities, than anyone else. While I do believe the Big 5 is still great for hypothetical discussion, it hasn't born much fruit when it comes to having an objective way to really break down the personality of a person.
Sorry for all of that, but I felt the need to address the logically questionable chunk of my username, because I'm too lazy to think of a new one at the current time. I hope everyone has a wonderful and takes care of themselves to the best of their abilities.
