Our summer heat wave is here. What is the hottest temperature you have lived in and where was it?

Right now in Death Valley, CA it is 121 with an expected high of 126! Blistering heat.
Mine would be in Phoenix, AZ 121 I believe it was 1995.

Back in 1965 on a family trip. We were passing through Needles, Ca., and I remember someone on the radio saying it was 112 degrees.

Ontario Canada a balmy 27% - Celsius that is.

Welcome to a typical day in July and August in Oklahoma, where I grew up, and be sure to toss in the 95% humidity, to get that "misery index."
I hated Connecticut summers. April was perfect, full of flowers, by May the heat was rolling in, too sticky to even pull on your panty hose.

I remember the first time I came to Colorado from Oklahoma in the summer. Somewhere near the Northwestern New Mexico state line with South Central Co., there was a noticeable change in the humidity and temp. I came up in 78 after graduating from OK.U., and never looked backed.

June 26, 1990, it hit 122 in Phoenix. I was working in an office in a hangar at Sky Harbor airport. Planes couldn't take off because they didn't have charts that went above 120.

Walking out on to the ramp to catch the employee bus was like walking into a blow-dryer.

A good story about what it was like that day is here: The Hottest Day Ever in Phoenix: An Oral History

105 is nothing! Its 112 right now in Phoenix. Last year we had 50 days above 110, shattering the previous record of 33 days.
My wife just spent a week down their visiting down there visiting family. Had a great time, but chomping at the bit to get back home to the Rockies.

That's horrible. It hit 100 here, both yesterday and today which is way too hot for me. Next week we're supposed to go back down to high 80s low 90s. Still too hot, but better.

At lease AZ & CO don't have high humidity.

That oral acct you posted above is horrible! Underwear melting, shoe soles melting. Geez.

I swear the humidity line is the same as the KS state line.

115 yesterday, should be 115 today, 117 tomorrow.

It happens...I work at home, indoors, with A/C at 79, and it is very chilly.

Lol. I don't even like 79. I want 60-68.

OMG. I'm on the Maine coast now. It went up to 93 last week and they closed schools. It was horrible, though, because it was really humid and a lot of people (including me) don't have AC. 90 and above is rare here. Usually it cools off good here at night, so the house cools off and if it's going to be really hot, you shut up the house in the morning, pull the shades in the sunny windows and it stays liveably cool. Not that spell last week, though.

I remember that about Sky harbor closing for a while. A odd occurrence.
Thanks for the link.
