"If a man shall not work, neither shall he eat."
First off, unless you believe the "whole counsel of G-d", meaning the inerrant, infallable Word of G-d, then you are certainly not a Christian. But I digress. So you believe that Jesus would be against Universal healthcare?
That's cool if you believe that. I'm actually curious how my fellow Christians feel.

Forced charity, by Government edict, certainly is not Christian charity. It is oppression.
I would love to see a return to the fee for service that the US saw before insurance companies and lawyers got their filthy mitts involved!!

Not I, but the Word of G-d!Who are you to say who is Christian and who isn't?
Not I, but the Word of G-d!

More like 5000, but that was to prove His Deity! The fact that He is G-d Almighty!!Didn't he feed like 500 people by conjuring up fish and bread?

Can somebody point me to a passage where Jesus said it was the responsibility of Government to provide healthcare for all of their citizens?

The question is what would Jesus do in this case if he had to deal with UHC. My guess is he'd probably back it. He was all into that whole love your neighbor thing.

To hold that view, one must already have come to the conclusion that those who seek to provide universal healthcare have the best interest of "the people" in mind.
If there was, there wouldn't need to be the question.
That said. Based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, do you believe that he would have supported UHC or a for-profit healthcare system based on ability to pay?
Jesus could heal a person by touching them. A mere mortal has no such power. Don't you think it's unreasonable to compare someone like Jesus - God on earth, who could literally provide uhc to all himself, to common men?
That being said, I don't see any reason to believe that Jesus would support the good shepherds of Government having so much control over man who was given free-will.
So you believe that Jesus would support a for profit insurance based healthcare system?
I'm waiting for you to cast your vote.
Jesus would be for our spirituality and salvation. He would support whatever the government put in place be it private or socialist.
It is up to us as humans to decide how we take care of ourselves physically and up to Jesus to take car of us spiritually.
Goshin covered the rest early on in this thread.
I think that Jesus would support a for profit insurance based healthcare system, that would have policies tailored for the healthcare needs of the applicant.
Oh wait, that's me...
Sorry, can't speak for Jesus.
