Have you ever before seen any president talk to the citizens of the United States like if they were all 6 years old and that believe anything that is told to them?

Well, Trump does it all the time and the latest example is today's press conference about Turkey promising a cease fire in their fight against the Kurds. His press conference today was like he needed to outline things in a way the most stupid can understand and of course, doing it a way where he says over and over again "Everyone is stupid. I am the only one that knows what to do".

"We have something that is strong and I believe will hold up"

"We have done them a great service and we have done a great job, for all of them"

"Countless lives are now being saved because of our negotiations"

"Kurds were extremely thankful for what we have done"

"ISIS has been contained. A few escaped but were recaptured"

"We got the cease fire to stick. That is something very special"

"We are now an economic powerhouse like never before"

"American forces defeated 100% of the ISIS Califate in the last 3 years"

"Today's action validates everything we have done with Turkey"

"People are saying "Wow, what a great outcome. Congratulations, you've done a great job"

"we needed a new approach to American foreign policy. One based on knowledge, history and a realistic understanding of the world"

"We need a plan to win"

"We saved tens of thousands of Kurds"

Does he not understand he was the one that caused this crisis?

Bringing troops home? Ha, that is a joke because none of the troops are coming home. They are being moved to other middle east locations (such as Saudi Arabia) where they will be of more help to "TRUMP".

He lies to you and gives you explanations as if you were children. If it wasn't so sad and serious, it would be a riot.

Stop the endless WARS.....

Your post is ridiculous. This is about Trump addressing Americans as if they were children that need to be explained things is a childish way for them to understand. This was NOT about whether wars should stop or not.

Wars are always easy to stop. Just runaway! That is what Trump did and he did it because it looks good in the face of his poorly educated base. He did not do it smartly, he did it "from the gut" and his gut is thinking about political survival and not about what is involved.

How little does he respect anyone but him? Easy answer............he did not consult with anyone before making a decision.

He believes he is the only adult in the nation and everyone else (you included) are saps.

You may desire to be known as a sap. I do not.

Did the U.S runaway from Vietnam and Iraq?

annotated

"We have something that is strong and I believe will hold up" (who is "we"? Erdogan and Putin?)

"We have done them a great service and we have done a great job, for all of them" (as hundreds of thousands of Kurds flee their homes and businesses)

"Countless lives are now being saved because of our negotiations" (early Turkish estimates say 1,000 Kurds are dead)

"Kurds were extremely thankful for what we have done" (yesterday they were pelting US armored vehicles with potatoes and rocks)

"ISIS has been contained. A few escaped but were recaptured" (Trump has no idea how many have escaped)

"We got the cease fire to stick. That is something very special" (thanks to you, Erdogan got what he wanted... ethnic-cleansing. no Kurds on his border.)

"We are now an economic powerhouse like never before" (non-sequitur)

"American forces defeated 100% of the ISIS Califate in the last 3 years" (it was the Kurds that suffered 11,000 dead fighting ISIS in the past four years)

"Today's action validates everything we have done with Turkey" (nothing validates your betrayal of an ally)

"People are saying "Wow, what a great outcome. Congratulations, you've done a great job" (a lie. even Republicans are kicking your sleazy ass for betraying an ally)

"we needed a new approach to American foreign policy. One based on knowledge, history and a realistic understanding of the world" (you have no understanding of the world. nor of honor)

"We need a plan to win" (you planned this cut and run with no one. you simply ordered this on Twitter)

"We saved tens of thousands of Kurds" (at least 1,000 Kurds have been butchered thanks to you.)

trump has a long history of blatantly lying and saying the opposite of the truth, in an attempt to mislead people - it almost sounds too obvious to say. He'll rape a woman and say he protected her from being raped. It's a technique called 'the big lie' he learned from the Nazis apparently. The question is whether people hold him accountable, or let him get away with it.

He learned all of this from Roy Cohn, his idol, mentor and tutor. He does everything exactly like Roy Cohn did/

"If you want to keep your insurance, you can keep your insurance"

And my favorite,

susan rice benghazi lie.webp

Did the U.S runaway from Vietnam and Iraq?

Vietnam: yes, and we were right to do so, though we did it for the wrong reasons.

Vietnam was a country trying to be free of foreign control. We tried for decades to prevent their freedom, ironically in the name of protecting their freedom, because of our own politics regarding communist powers. We did a lot wrong, we wrongly killed millions of Vietnamese, and finally, defeated, we left.

Iraq is a harder topic. They were ruled by Saddam, a vicious dictator we supported at times, encouraging and helping him in a war that caused a million Iranian casualties. We finally turned against him, overthrew him, and then did horribly at rebuilding the country.

And then we largely left, when they refused to grant our troops immunity for crimes they commit. And again, leaving there seems like the right thing, even if it wasn't for the right reasons exactly.

Neither of those have anything to do, really, with the situation in Syria and our abandoning the Kurds for trump's personal benefit from Turkey.

Maybe they're not against stopping wars. Maybe they're just against signaling to other countries that American soldiers are cowards who flee from the battlefield leaving their weapons and infrastructure behind.

That's a dishonest post.

Obama was making a limited point that was correct you are distorting out of context, and Rice was saying what the early intelligence had reported, which was corrected soon after when the intelligence was updated.

It's good to see Baghdad Bob is back in work. That guy really knows how to get to the point.

It's not the soldiers people think are cowards. It's trump they recognize as corrupt and Republicans they recognize as corrupt cowards for supporting him.

Trump is the president of the United States. His first job is to protect United States citizens. He is not obliged to protect Kurds.

Truman knew that dropping a bomb on Japan would kill innocent Japanese civilians. So did Obama who authorized drone strikes.

He learned a lot wrong from Roy Cohn, but I'm not sure the big lie was from Cohn. He had a book of Hitler speeches as the only book we know he's read...

So your argument is, if Putin invades any country in the world, the US has no interest. When Hitler was conquering Europe, the US had no interest and should have stayed out of the war. Got it.

Your 'no lives matter except Americans' is utterly immoral. Truman's decision is very controversial for a reason. Obama's policy is as well, though they try to justify it as saving lives compared to the alternative measures. Not controversial with you - but with people with morality.

But... we didn't really do anything when the Nazis were killing the jews.

Also, Trump has to be accounted for. The people that do that are the American voters! Last I checked, the Kurds do not vote!

I hope so. It's a bad look either way.

We didn't? Admittedly, we weren't as concerned as we should have been, but we were at war with Germany and liberated the death camps, and prosecuted the Nazis for war crimes.

That is the truth of the matter. I hope other countries can see that American soldiers appearing to abandon their posts in Syria are doing so solely out of a duty to follow orders, and not out of a fear of Russian and Syrian military power.

I think everyone understands that. But America's reputation for morality, for reliability as a partner, is harmed indefinitely by Republicans.

LOL!

How many jews supposedly died before we did that?

Donald Trump is an idiot and many of his supporters are using their religion to segregate their own children away from the kids that they don't want them to be around.

How can any of us, in good faith, trust any of those people.
