Looks as though I am the only one who voted "no."
Well...I do not hate the political process...I do not hate politicians...I do not hate government.
I think all the "hating" in these areas are way overdone...and, in the long run, as destructive of good government as anything that is being hated.
But...I may be wrong.
Do you hate the "political game" as much as I do? All the lying... all the partisan hacks deflecting everything from one side and harping on the smallest nothing from the other side AND THEN we get just another asshat in office at the end of the day.
What an annoying year and a half of asswiping bull****.
Could a mod add a yes, no or other poll please with "Do you hate the political game process?" for me. Not sure how I messed that up. Thanks
Much of the dishonesty that is a "social lubricant" exists purely to fuel and protect the dishonesty we are already used to.

Back in those days according to Aristotle apparently not.
The rural areas did not vote.
The farmers were not citizens of Athens, Argos, Corinth, Thebes, etc.
The farmers were free men under the hegemony of the closest city state.
The era of the Greek city states vanished with the advent of Philip and Alexander the Great however.
It lived again briefly in Italy between the fall of Rome and Constantinople.
After that then however, the emperors or the Popes or the kings and queens ruled.
Politics was not reborn until the American and French revolutions.

What I hate are the people who are not here to debate, but to spin, carry the party line no matter what.
WOW!
Would you be so kind as to cite which of Aristotle's works covered that area?
The closest I can come with a reference would be Nicomachean Ethics, which doesn't even mention politics, or Rhetoric which doesn't either, but certainly defines what it has become.
I love politics, and the "game" when played well is an awesome thing to watch. The best example is Canada's most recent election which seems to have invigorated the country. They actually had viewers to the live cabinet swearing in ceremony, and its never been televised before.
What I hate are the people who are not here to debate, but to spin, carry the party line no matter what. We get enough of that from the politicians themselves without trolls descending like **** flies. I hate this because so many otherwise enlightening threads are allowed to become high school name calling, and get diverted to George Bush and how he lost World War 1, caused the dirty 30's and invaded Vietnam.
And I most hate it when a poster makes a claim, it proves to be made up bull****, and they coward out. These, I maintain, are reasons why this site is dying.
