This was one of Trumps major policy promises but its all gone quiet on that front.
Has trump sneaked through the measure without telling anyone ?

Maybe thats what happened ?

When he made the claim some cynical people reckoned that Musk was more likely to get a tax cut before those greedy billionaire waitresses. But we all know that donny is 100% for the litttle people.

Now that he has brought peace to Ukraine its time to take care of the small details.

LOL

Not in a million years. Rich people don't work for tips.

I am 100% against this.
There is this misnomer that servers make no money. In comparison to other service jobs - they are among the highest earning.
Why should they not pay taxes on their earnings like everyone else does? NONE.
There are too many Americans paying no income tax the way it is.

Dont they pay taxes on their actual jobs ?

Is there a point there?
Do you get to absolve over half your income from taxation?
A lot of servers only work 3 days a week. They make as much as their full time spouses make in 5 days, working a 1/3 less hours.
This is common.
This was populace vote buying, Trump is no less guilty of doing this than Democrats. Probably learned it when he was a Democrat

He also promised no tax on Social Security. How's that working out.

It was a policy promise. People voted for it. Nobody voted to colonize Gaza. Trump is a man of his word.

While I doubt most tipped service workers report all of their tips as (taxable) income now, making that legal creates other problems.

More tipped workers will become eligible for “safety net” program benefits, despite enjoying an increase in their net incomes.

The reduction in those worker’s taxable income will reduce their SS retirement benefit amounts later in life.

States with income taxes will also experience revenue reductions.

Trump would not announce a policy without working out the detail. He is a man of honour.

Sure he would, his mission was to get himself elected. Knowing that only a congressional majority could make that policy change happen assures that any negative consequences would be shared by those legislators.

Since you aren't an American, you might be excused for not knowing how our legislative process works, but, because of that, don't you think you should educate yourself before spouting nonsense to a forum FULL of Americans?

America's legislative process:
1. The legislative branch cowers under the bed.
2. The executive branch rules by EO.
3. The judicial branch protects the executive from prosecution.
4. Mycroft endorses the tyranny.

Also you are dismissed.

Has the legislative process started yet ? They dont seem to have mush to do.

Has the legislative process started yet ? They dont seem to have mush to do.

The republicant congress critters are busy trying to reduce federal income taxes, increase security/defense spending and pretending doing that will somehow reduce the federal “budget” deficit. Of course, that last part is what’s taking so much time.

Congress was seated just over a month ago and no...they haven't really started with the meat and potatoes of their legislative agenda.

They dont seem to have mush to do.
There's been mostly some power jockeying going on. Setting rules. Assigning committee membership. That kind of thing.

I think they are waiting for Trump's State of the Union Address. After that, we'll see the REAL action from Congress.

Doing that would deplete the SS ‘trust me’ fund(s) even faster.
So the tax states put on Social Security goes back into Social Security? Are you sure? I have my doubts.

I made no such assertion. The changes Trump wants are to be made to federal income tax law.
Fair enough. You should have been specific. I haven't had my second cup of coffee yet.

And how’s that wall working out? Has Mexico sent us payment for it yet?
And the war in Ukraine? Is that over yet?
When will the MAGATS realize that the felon is just a windbag full of lies and empty promises?
A: NEVER!

Campaign promises be empty campaign promises.

Kamala ran on it too. It's going to be interesting to watch the contortions Democrats will be making trying to justify voting against something that their candidate ran on.
