Has the gop in michigan learned their lesson about letting the citizens vote on the abortion issue?

Kansas was a shocker for the gop and the christian right when the voters said, keep our abortion rights.

Michigan republicans are now trying to keep the citizens of michigan from voting on the abortion issue for their state. Over seven hundred thousand signatures were collected to put it on the ballot, the largest amount of signatures collected for any issue in michigan's history.

How do republicans fix their mouths to tell us they are 'for' the people when all of their efforts seem to go into defeating the will of the people? They were all for scotus killing Roe with the argument, leave it up to the states. Well we see what happens when left up to the states, the republicans try to squash the issue at every turn. **** the people, we only care about them when we want their votes.

Republicans are criminals that seek to at least obfuscate the law if not outright change it to suit their criminality. They need to be destroyed.

That's how it goes a lot. Republicans fought for unlimited use of money in politics promising transparency, as soon as they got it they supported no transparency. The US used to fight for countries to have democracy when it benefited US interests, such as in Vietnam, then prevented democracy when that was convenient, such as preventing elections in Vietnam.

Ulysses S Grant once remarked that countries are against free tree trade while developing their economies, and then for free trade when it crushes other countries and benefits the powerful economies. This article summarizes the issue nicely:

Republicans say they're against debt all day, while they do policies increasing debt far more than Democrats to 'starve the beast', they're for democracy when that's convenient until they're losing elections, etc.
 
Abortion ballot initiatives bring all the boys to the yard.

No way Republicans want that on the ballot. They would get crushed by turnout.

What is really funny is that the same people who turned down the petition are the ones who had approved and even made some suggestions on how to write the petition. This is just the beginning of how the GOP has turned into a fascist party and it portends the future of our elections in states where the GOP rules and I do mean "rules".

So the Supreme Court argument overturning Roe v. Wade was nothing but "specious rhetoric"? I don't think overturning what has been the law of the land for nearly 50 years qualifies as mere "rhetoric".

He didn't say the ruling was rhetoric, he said that Republicans' proclaiming that it was all about the people getting to choose, 'leave it up to the states', was.

Ever since W I've been saying there is a cancer growing inside of the gop. When W fabricated his facts to lead us into a war with iraq and the republicans dared anyone to say hell no I won't vote for war because if you did you were un american. That showed me all I needed to know about the gop, they will accept anything from their party even lies that lead to war.

What the gop now has is the monster from the little shop of horrors, out of control angry and hungry for power.
