Has Anyone Been to a Private Location Rally?

Walz is holding a rally here today with actor Ed Helms as a guest. I've never been to a rally, and my interest in this one is basically curiosity.

Anyway, the event was announced Friday, I believe, and the location has been a big secret ever since. I was directed to sign up for "tickets," which I did, and the e-mail I received tells me the rally is at the Grand Sierra as it was originally planned last month before he cancelled.

Is this typical? Why would the campaign keep the location a secret?

My guess is perhaps they can only accomodate a certain number of people?

Yeah, I'm puzzled. That's what I thought but it's at the GSR. The resort has plenty of convention space.

I'm in the middle of a wild goose chase using Google Forms to get my "ticket." Real PITA. Kinda discouraging. Lol.

A quick google looks like that Grand theater there only has a 2900 seat capacity?

Am I looking at the right place?


If so, I can see keeping the location private - especially with the size the Harris/Walz rallies have been.

There’s no reason to have thousands of people show up and not be able to attend. That would simply be rude.

They are trying to keep Trump supporters from being able to protest outside.

They don't want to risk there being more protesters than attendees. Bad optics, you know.

It's not a scam. It's a rally. Signing up is one PITA, though. I'm still suffering through it...

...alright. I'm not a big smartphone user. I like printed tickets. They're on the phone, so I'm good.

The event is free. Yes, entrance depends on how many people sign up. This depends on how much space the campaign rented. I guess I'll find out.

I'd buy this except for the fact this rally makes up for the one cancelled last month. That rally and its location were well publicized.

Trump's maskless campaign wasn't allowed in Washoe County. Sisolak gave Trump the boot.
