First the vast majority of mass shootings are committed with pistols. I know you don't care about those because the news media tells you not to they want you to care about the meme.

If you can do a mass shooting with a tech N9ne or a pump-action shotgun that aren't banned by the assault weapons ban it doesn't do really any good does it?

for them to have a valid point, they would have to show that firearms with banned features suddenly started being used after the ban expired. and then they would have to tell us why a flash hider or adjustable stock makes the gun "unusually dangerous" and "not in common use for any lawful purpose"

Heller was wrongly decided. Citizens do not need to have recreational access to weapons that can kill hundreds of people within minutes.
As long as the NRA controls the Republican Congress, we can expect to be burying more children, and be lectured that they died because the teachers did not have guns, or that there are too many doors on the buildings, or that people need to go back to church.
With a straight face they tell you this horseshit, that their freedom is infringed (lol) if they must submit to extensive background checks, or registrations, or wait periods. They will tell you it is normal for children to practice hiding under their desks, and to lock themselves in closets to keep from being killed by maniacs who stopped by the local WalMart to buy an assault rifle, being too YOUNG to buy a handgun.
And we have poll results indicating that a vast majority here are willing to see a million, maybe more children killed before they would reconsider this issue. I find it incomprehensible.

This is one issue Kamala Harris has exactly right. Even Mitch McConnell knows that, with his last ditch effort to make himself look reasonable. I think the tide is turning with American voters on this issue.

deaths were going down all around and that included with handguns

the guns that were "banned" were cosmetically slightly different than ones that were able to be sold and those weapons had never been used in many shootings. it was a complete joke that was designed to try to set a precedent to ban more guns
 
If Ms Harris is calling for an assault weapon ban as a spokesperson for the Biden administration, I’m sure this is because polling shows a ban is what most Americans favor as the victims of mass shootings pile up.

There has been mixed results in banning firearms. There was an uptick after the ban sunsetted
The assaults weapon ban did see a decrease in deaths while the hand gun ban in DC didn't really see much at all.

Handguns didn't see a decrease in deaths. So no.
We have a few guns we have banned outright from being used here. Banning a weapon doesn't infringe on your right to carry a fire arm.

If I ban the AR 15 that doesn't mean you can't own a 9mm and so forth.

Even if this is true the majority of those mass shootings likely all but one or two of them were committed with guns that were ban compliant.

Most mass shootings occurring today are being perpetrated by firearms that are ban compliant. Most mass shootings are done with pistols and the band Only affected One pistol a particular pistol that's quite a piece of junk that you could still legally acquire during the band with missing features in fact a ban compliant tek nine was used in Columbine.
