Happy No Kings Day everyone!

I love America. The day after Canada's king held a military parade to celebrate Haiti birthday, the United States protested en masse when a dumb dumb president tried to do the same.

It's great.

The left’s bat shit crazy activism in the 1960s got us civil rights laws that ended segregation
Actually, it was civil rights activism that brought us civil rights. And it was a very powerful democrat Robert Byrd that held the longest filibuster in history attempting to block the civil rights act. LBJ did sign the act into law, however he knew not to do so would be political suicide. And he had a segregationist history of his own.
and started us down the path towards equal rights for women,
Not sure which equal rights you are referring to. Women gained the right to vote in 1920. And the so-called equal rights amendment was never ratified.
pushed the Vietnam War towards its end,
ROFLMAO. It was a democrat, LBJ, that entered the US into the Vietnam War and a republican, Nixon who got us out.

And the activism drew support from across the left, from liberal democrats and liberal republicans to communists, while being opposed by folks like Goldwater and Wallace. (Who both later changed their minds.)

Ok. Democrats used to be the party of the right wing in the South. Now it’s republicans.

Times and people change. LBJ also organized programs to help the poor, with many of them persisting to this day. Medicare and Medicaid have helped me and millions of others.

Women were added to protected categories in anti-discrimination law. They way I heard it when I investigated discrimination complaints way back in the 1970s - so my memory may be incorrect - conservatives added women hoping that might kill the bill. It didn’t, it made it better.

Oh yeah, Nixon was a great humanitarian when it came to the Vietnam War. It was democrats that marched to end it. Nixon finally paid attention to us.

But what is your point here? The left of either party is what has provided us the current benefits we expect in the workplace, everything from the right to organize, overtime, anti-discrimination, unemployment insurance, worker’s compensation, equal pay for equal work, and anti-discrimination laws covering employment, housing and public accommodations. The right has formed both stubborn opposition — Bill Buckley’s great line about his role was that he stood astride history, yelling “STOP!” — but the right has also served as useful brakes on some liberal ideas or tendencies.

Ahhh...the ole Big Switch fable.

LBJ was a segregationist. That only changed when he became president for the sake of political expediency. He wanted an FDR legacy in more ways than one. He wanted a war legacy along those lines and set up the Gulf of Tonkin incident to get us into the Vietnam War. The Civil Rights Act was a good thing; however, it was LBJs own party that tried the hardest to stop it. And it was LBJs Great Society programs that institutionalized poverty in the inner cities and minority communities for close to six decades.

I never claimed Nixon was a great humanitarian. However, he did end the Vietnam War. And it had nothing to do with the idiots marching against the War. It was over the North Vietnamese walking out of the peace talks. Nixon then ordered unrestricted carpet bombing of all North Vietnamese military targets, ordered Haiphong Harbor mined, cutting off NV supply routes, in effect bringing the North back to the peace talks where a treaty was signed. I would have given the protesters credence if not for the fact that they were taking it out on all the troops, calling them baby killers. I did not go to Vietnam; however, I was leered at by some of them walking through airports in uniform.

Half truths and conjecture.

Not a fable. White voters in the South switched from democrats to republicans, much as LBJ predicted. Just look at the presidential electoral maps. With the exception, I believe, of Carter’s election that held true in the post-civil rights USA.

How do you explain that poverty rates declined? How do you explain that few want to eliminate Medicare, Medicaid and food assistance?

Oh yeah, the millions who objected to the war had nothing to do with its end. You can believe that fairy tale if you wish.

Let’s make today count!
Mass hysteria, also known as mass psychogenic illness, is a phenomenon where a group of people experience similar symptoms or behaviors without a verifiable physical cause.

Another word for mass hysteria is mass psychogenic illness (MPI), also known as mass sociogenic illness or epidemic hysteria. It refers to the spread of symptoms of illness through a group of people when there is no actual infectious agent present. Other related terms include delirium, frenzy, and craze, all of which capture the intense and uncontrolled nature of the phenomenon.

Hmm, I wonder why data shows "liberals" are most likely to have mental disorders, weird. Tell me this doesn't describe today's liberal to a tee. It's really gotten bad, they simply say things, stamp it reality and the narrations progressively snowball. False equivalencies and tall tales, all day, every day. No Kings protest is a perfect example, and look how many people climbed on. That's mass hysteria.

You are not telling the complete truth. White voters did switch from democrat to republican; however it was over economic issues, not race. On the race issue, the vast majority of bigoted senators and reps returned to the democrat party( from the Dixiecrat party, or remained in the democrat party.
How do you explain that poverty rates declined?
They didn't. Poverty was simply institutionalized.
How do you explain that few want to eliminate Medicare, Medicaid and food assistance?
I do not see Medicare and Medicaid as a bad thing. I am also okay with food assistance where it's truly needed.
Oh yeah, the millions who objected to the war had nothing to do with its end. You can believe that fairy tale if you wish.
Nobody likes a long war; however the protesters did not end the Vietnam War. B-52 unrestricted carpet bombing and the mining of Haiphong Harbor did.

And it had nothing to do at all with Trump’s delusions of grandeur, disrespect of election results, insults to so many Americans, felony counts, and attempts to White-wash our history. And the nerve of them to show out in far greater numbers against Trump than for his birthday parade.

Don't look now but a liberal is talking about delusions.

That reads like the contents of a spam email that one occasionally gets from their crazy uncle that they have to invite to Thanksgiving, but nobody really wants them to be there.

What in my post was delusional. I can see you quarrel with my saying that Trump has delusions, but everything else is factual.

Right? You can call it anything you like in order to avoid it, it's your safe space.
