Happy B-Day to the great Jimmy Carter

God Bless Jimmy Carter! What a warm, kind-hearted man! I met him face-to-face on a college campus in Miami FL during his 1976 campaign for POTUS.

The incumbent stress related to serving as POTUS proved too much for Jimmy. I regret his misguided decision to not let American athletes participate in the 1980 Summer Olympics,
 
A man of strong moral integrity and respect for human dignity.

That made him a terrible politician.
 
Carter is in better health than Biden
 
Many blame the fall of the Shah in Iran and the rise of the Islamic Republic there to his pressure on the Shah to release dangerous political prisoners in his country- in the name of “human rights”. The Shah was one of the US’s strongest allies in the region and working to modernize Iran.

Is it possible to do things with catastrophic consequences, with the purest of intentions?

I do not know whether he was "great," but I am glad that he boycotted the Russian Olympics.

Of course, this country will not have the guts to boycott the Beijing Olympics, even after that nation destroyed the world with COVID.

How can a man routinely listed as the worst president ever be considered great? Some consider Biden to be nice but look at the mess he has created in just a short period of time. He will replace Carter on the worst list.
 
Great PBS documentary on him. Carter ran for governor as a segregationist (the only way he would've won) then turned on them and spoke out against racism at a rally after he got elected LOL.

Best example of the difference in campaigning and governing.

No, it didn't.

It made a lot of citizens do poorly not supporting him, instead supporting a plutocratic, criminal, mass murderer con man (trump wasn't the first, they even had the same slogan).

Over a million civilians were killed during the Russian occupation of Afghanistan, which lasted for HALF as long as the US was there.

So yes, it was, in fact, a good thing the US took a strong stand against that.

Trump is gone, history, no longer in control. This is about Biden and his administration. Go ahead and try to defend his border decisions, his disastrous Afghan retreat, his insane welfare spending bills, and the rising cost of goods and services. Can you really do that with a straight face or cackle like Kamala?
