#HandsOffOurSocialSecurity

Social Security Insurance and Medicare Insurance do not need replacements. Taxpayers own this insurance coverage. It is special interest politicians who believe they own what taxpayers own. They are out to lunch.

Wall Street is something that is risky business not what middle class America needs because Wall Street is reckless and explosive. Only rich people can afford to lose money and lose retirement investments and can
afford to live without any medical insurance. Middle Class America cannot afford to lose any type of coverage
that they in fact are paying for.

Actually Charles Koch and ALEC want that .....Rick Scott dropped by a Koch event to pick it up. Koch and ALEC are the culprits behind every issue and/or legislation the Fake ALEC GOP push through. This should be against the law. It all starts in the halls of ALEC then goes to the halls of congress.

Koch likes these matters kept behind closed doors. Rick Scott is an ALEC cat, like Pence etc etc etc.

The opponents of Social Security will stop at nothing in their long crusade to destroy the most efficient retirement system in the world. Opponents have taken two tracks to attack Social Security.

The first is to claim the system as it is will fail, and the second is to claim that privatization is a better way to provide for retirement security. The first claim was the favorite from 1935 to about 2001.Then the privatization claim became the vogue. Now the first is back on the table.

With corporations routinely defaulting on their pension promises, more and more workers must rely on their individual wealth to make up the difference.

The stock market collapse at the turn of the millennium wiped out much of the financial wealth of middle class Americans, and the collapse of the housing bubble has wiped out much of their remaining wealth.

Yes, the SS bullshit is just a distraction from what the left is doing. That the GOP wants to end SS is just the latest liberal Big Lie.
No.

They actually want to end it.

Or rather, the disinformation machine that draws supporters to them and keeps those supporters misinformed wants to, and they don't get a say in the matter.

Yeah, why would you want more money to retire on.
During the 20th century, there were several periods lasting more than ten years when the return on stocks was negative.

After the Dow Jones stock index went down by over 75% between 1929 and 1933, the Dow did not return to its 1929 level until 1953.

In claiming that the rate of return on a stock investment is guaranteed to be greater than the return on any other asset, GW Bush was lying. If an investment-firm broker made this claim to his clients, he would be arrested and charged with stock fraud.

Michael Milken went to jail for several years for making just this type of promise about financial investments.

With all the capitol hill lies and and lies coming from brokers why in the hell would anyone want SSI dollars to be shifted to the Wall Street Casino? Which is the plan. People will never know how much they will receiving each month or if they will receive anything some months.

SSI dollars being diverted to Wall Street will in fact create a massive windfall for guess who? The wealthiest investors. The SSI deductions will continue going straight to the wealthier of investors......people who don't
need the money.

But who's gonna retire ten years after starting to work? And while you're working and investing lower prices are good for you. Long term conservative mutual funds show 6-8% gain.

And all the time you'd be buying cheap shares.

I don't think anyone's claiming it's "guaranteed".

And . . .?
"Dollars and Sense"? Most ironically named website I've seen in a long time.
And . . .? As I mentioned above, if you're uncomfortable with the risk stick to SS as it depletes its resources.

There is no hard evidence demonstrating that SSI will not available. Much representation has taken place
when claims that Social Security trustees said the system will be “bankrupt” in 2042. So many different dates have been "tossed" around as to when SSI will become insolvent = indicates a bit of political rhetoric is in play.

Bankruptcy is defined as “the inability to pay ones debts” or, when applied to a business, “shutting down as a result of insolvency.”

Nothing the trustees have said or published indicates that Social Security will fold as a result of insolvency.

Until 1984, the trust fund was “pay-as-you-go,” meaning current benefits were paid using current tax revenues. In 1984, Congress raised payroll taxes to prepare for the retirement of the baby boom generation.

As a result, the Social Security trust fund, which holds government bonds as assets, has been growing. When the baby boomers retire, these bonds will be sold to help pay their retirement benefits.

If the trust fund went to zero, Social Security would simply revert to pay-as-you-go.

Social Security Q&A | Dollars & Sense

Dollars and Sense does not represent either side of the aisle in fact hits on both sides of the aisle. Thus has gained my respect.

I love these ****ers who are currently getting SSA benefits wanting to take it from those not yet on it. Don't they know that the money we are paying in now, pays for their benefits, as the money they paid in paid for those who were retired and elderly when they were working?
It is the ultimate of I got mine, **** you and what are you going to do about it?

Never vote for republicans ever again which is easy because there are no republicans in the party. Koch dollars and ALEC killed the GOP many years ago.

Koch dollars have no use for republicans or democrats or women in power or other thinkers in general. Fascism is their game.

Declare Election Day A Holiday! Restore the Voting Rights Act now. Wipe Out Voter Suppression!!!!!!
