Guns are the problem...

Where it landed isnt the question...the question is how a story about a weird hunting incident became a launching pad for a ridiculous anti-gun argument.
Perhaps you should complain to management about this flagrant, uhhhh, something or other.

No need. I think pointing out the foolishness of the OP in the form of questioning the intent was quite sufficient...enough so that he abandoned his own thread and only thew occasional 'person' still staggers in to try to ally themselves with the foolishness.

That would pretty much eradicate mass shootings.....what's you plan to achieve this ?

That seems to be included in his post.

So why are states with dramatically higher gun proliferationr than in MA, CT, NY, and NJ incarcerating residents at up to 5-1/2 X the rate per 100K residents,
Superior police. Superior prosecutors. Doubt guilty verdicts for things like theft have anything to do with guns.
adding prison beds at $300,000 per pop, soending more to operate them than the cost of all other state services combined, and yet are much less safe from crime than those four states that are closing prisons, if consequences of lack of legislated restrictions of gun ownership and carry are not the difference?
Closing prisons isn't good it means criminals just live among you

Far left panic isn't reality
Not a problem in CT, MA, NJ, or NY !

Guns are stolen from cars at triple the rate
of ten years ago.
Must be all those criminals not being locked up
May 9, 2024

Are prisons about justice and public safety or about state gov welfare for rural communities unsustainable economically from private sector business activity?
Justice and public safety
The state that has so much crime and theft the debris from criminal behavior derails trains.

Newsome is everything not to be as a state governor.

Your post is incoherent. Compared to
the conditions in the states you defend, states with laws or lack of them, resulting in hyper incarceration rates for reasons that should be obvious, Intentional gun proliferation, the states you baselessly criticize seem oasis of sanity.
I cannot make the following any simpler.
The states with lowest per capita gun ownership experience the least gun thefts and least crimes generally aggravated by presence or possession of guns.

I don't think incarceration is caused by guns. It's caused by police catching criminals and prosecutors succeeding in cases against them. Most crimes don't even involve guns.

That's an opinion. Interfering with rights doesn't seem like sanity to me if seems like oppression.

It's never been complex

Yeah the states with the least amount of cars experience fewer car thefts. This is just a statistical observation it doesn't need to be simpler.

It's not an argument for stripping rights from citizens. Sorry.

Sounds like a law enforcement issue.

You post as if this is not obvious, the problem is legislative not enforcement. Less crimes in which a gun is present, lower incarceration rate !!!!

“The report found higher gun thefts in states with looser gun laws, which also tend to have higher rates of gun ownership.

Most crimes don't involve guns so this claim is ridiculous.
Failure in enforcement.

Failure in enforcement.
Are you claiming they are hiding or covering up the murders in Boston?

Massachusetts has under 20 percent gun ownership.

This wouldn't have happened if we didn't have guns...
Regarding animal suffering and hunting...anyone here believe the bear didn't suffer climbing the tree after it had been shot?

And Trump is going to take all firearms away from US citizens, you say. Gonna happen soon, right?

Did you see me claim that?

I claimed what I typed.

So what?
You typed “failure in enforcement”.

Not enough homicide arrests in Boston to
suit you?

Why are you so smug in your unwillingness to acknowledge the obvious, that absence of guns in MA, CT, NJ, and NY results in prison closings?
When no gun is associated with a crime, for example in a first offense prosecution, the accused may avoid a prison sentence entirely. When a gun is involved three times as often in least safe states compared to
Massachusetts, the need for additional prison beds at $300,000 a pop, as in Alabama, becomes obvious.

Gun proliferation is the curse of red states,
States with low gun ownership are closing prisons yet are among the safest to reside in.

Red states are spending $300,000 per new prison bed yet are among the least safe to reside in.

The stats tell us the high incarceration states are least safe.

Alabama just spent over $300,000.00 per bed just for the infrastructure for 4,000 beds.

The number to the immediate right of each state name is their safety ranking,

It’s not possible to determine gun ownership rates.

You're talking about incarceration so that would require convictions.
Why are you so smug in your unwillingness to acknowledge the obvious, that absence of guns in MA, CT, NJ, and NY results in prison closings?
Because it's false you are a manipulating to try and suggest we need to remove rights.

It's a very very old behavior dating back to Mesopotamia and I'm not falling for it.

No most people in jail didn't do any crimes involving guns sorry you're not good to tell that lie and have me believe it.

The number of people jail does not a metric regarding gun ownership sorry.

I don't know what made you think that it was.

Or a failure of society.
Enforcement of laws failing is a failure of society
The USA leads the Western world with the proportion of its people that it incarcerates.
So what everyone keeps saying this like at some sort of point.

Maybe there are more criminals here that can happen.
Just the right to keep & bear arms.
Taking away if someone's right to defend themselves takes away every other right. And if you take away firearms you take away the right to self-defense.

You should try and be honest about this but I guess that ship has sailed.
