Just because there's less mass shootings in those countries doesn't mean there's less killings.

But there are fewer killings in many of them and fewer killings by gun in all of them. If America's gun killings could be cut by 90 percent they won't all be replaced by murders with knives, poison, using a car in road rage or hitting someone over the head with a cast-iron skillet. It doesn't work that way. Murder rates don;t just stay the same and people find new weapons. Especially with mass shootings which only one type of weapon can do efficiently.

Then it wouldn't make sense for police officers to carry guns. Police officers deal with bad situations all the time, wouldn't want to make them worse by having guns.

I was speaking to being victimized by crime. Police officers are responding to crimes.

We don't have Neanderthals, they've been extinct for about 40,000 years, at least according to modern science.

If you don't use guns for protection that's your choice. But lots of people do, guns are a very effective means of protection in the hands of a well trained person.

the problem is-most of what you want to do is to harass lawful gun owners and further restrict objectively non-harmful activities and then PRETENDING that will stop violent criminals

Bombs are often homemade, and the materials to make bombs are legal, you can get them at most supermarkets or hardware stores.

A fully fueled vehicle can even be used as a bomb.

There is nothing good about cancer, but there are good reasons to own guns and there are good purposes for guns.
