Number two: Neither Reagan's tax cuts nor his tax increases created any problems. But the out of control spending increases of his Democrat-controlled Congress sure created problems...and the government's out of control spending is STILL creating problems.

I do understand off budget, that is why I never pay that much attention to the budget or their actual figures. I look at the debt total. If the debt rises, then there was no surplus, if the debt decreases, then there was a surplus. Budget and Washington fuzzy math makes no sense to me since they tend to hid the real truth. Once Richard Nixon simply submitted a budget with took on about $20 billion of debt and the entire party almost disowned him. Like I said......I was a Republican when they stood for balanced budgets, small government and individual liberty. George Bush doubled the national debt and increased the size of government by 15%. He also started the patriot act which gave the government the right to evesdrop on every phone conversation in the world. Since Reagan and his obsession with lower taxes for millionaires came along this country has lost it's middle class.
