Because of loose bolts, random aggravated assault charges, angry mothers, lawsuits, American dependence on foreign oil, Obamacare's dental plan and such, it's sadly likely that the traveling carnival is going the way of the Dodo bird.

What was your favorite 20th-Century carnival ride?

Why?

Roller coasters are not on the poll because it's by and large that their having been in traveling carnivals is the exception, not the rule.

A ride ends.

The Zipper.

My favorite carnival ride? Her first name was Brenda. That's all I'm saying.

It's been a few years but I used to love that ferris wheel thing where the cars spun around upside down. I'm also a fan of the tilt-o-wheel.

The Zipper.

I got stuck on the top of one of those for three hours one time. The best part was once they fixed it me and my friends got to ride it all day for free. These days I'm a little more cautious but mostly because I'm a lot more prone to motion sickness now.

Dude, I have lost soooooooooo many wallets on that frick'n thing.

Hate hate hate hate hate HATE IT!!!!!!!
Which really means you love it, being as you keep going on it in order to lose "soooooooooo many wallets".
iLOL

Alas, true. :2razz:

There are ride jocks who make a whole bunch of spare change via just standing under that thing all day, watching for falling objects.

Mr. Toad's
Space Mountain with the lights out

I'm so glad the zipper never gets stuck with us.

Sounds like she prolly oughtta be in rehab, then — not the carnival.

Have you ever ridden the Pigs in a Blanket?

Maybe it hasn't come to the Deep Southern U.S. yet, I dunno.

Unfortunately the people I spend most of my time with tend to be low risk types. So I don't get the opportunity to do these things very often. Also, those places annoy the **** out of me for other reasons.

I got stuck on the Wicked Twister one day at Cedar Point.

They let us languish in the sun for what seemed like hours and hours.

But after checking our watches it was only about 25 minutes.

We didn't get any freebies!

Sounds to me like you prolly shouldn't go there, then.

Just sayin'.

Cedar Point = not a traveling carnival.
