Greater Sydney council bans ‘revealing swimwear’ sparking debate about double standards
One expert says women’s bodies and attire have long been a source for public debate in a way that doesn’t happen with menwww.theguardian.com
Does anybody really object to a bit of skin on display ? They need to give their heads a wobble.
On a side issue I read the headline of this article and knew straight away it was about womens bodies. I just wonder when the anglophone world will actually grow up ?
Sydney council is not a private entity. It would appear the comments are about privately owned pools. If that is the case than the owners have a complete right to set standards of comportment on their property. Same here in the US.
No different than the right of the owner's of this board to set standards of speech and behavior.
Where I agree that many of my fellow Europeans take that stance, I've seen both assessments and reactions working the other way around as well. The only time I care about what people do in Europe is when I visit Europe. Otherwise, I couldn't care less.
Ever since our country was founded after kicking GB's a$$ Europeans have pretended to be superior to Americans. Arrogance and smugness doesn't impress me.
Well, German actually.I think they speak Austrian as well.
No.I have some pics of me last time I was in Aussie...
Especially while not descending, eh wot? Most descent women would be able to explain that.
Well, German actually.
Not so sure whether what's spoken in Australia passes for English but then I'm not so sure 'bout the US in that respect either.

Men too, please.Marge getting to you?
I'm trying to see where the line is on what types of clothing/swimwear make men (or @VySky ) think of sex and add to 'the decay of society'. And I'm thinking pretty much anything that shows skin or a woman's figure. I guess some won't be satisfied till women are in burkas.
Sydney council is not a private entity.
So what?It is... That's part of the decay within our society.
A woman knows a man will look and think of sexual things. There is no other explanation.
Why?Like the public airwaves, shouldn’t decency standards at a public beach or pool be the public’s decision, perhaps through a city or town council?
Should parents have to avoid taking heir kids to a public beach or pool because some guy wants to show off his 9-inch shlong in a rainbow-stripped willy pouch penis thong?
Not so sure whether what's spoken in Australia passes for English but then I'm not so sure 'bout the US in that respect either.
Many, many (many, many, many, many) years ago I had a Sheila
Not Australia. It's Straya.
Just abbreviate everything and I'll be able to understand you ok!
