Gov. greg abbott said Texas' Strict Abortion Law Would 'Eliminate All Rapists.' But Clinics Say The Number Of Rape Cases Has Been 'Consistently High':

When abbott said that last year we all knew it was total garbage and nothing but an insult to women.

A year later and rapes in Texas have increase. Not decreased. Women can't even get appointments for help the clinics are so backed up.

So how many rape survivors will have to leave the state to get a rapist's pregnancy terminated? How many women will be forced to give birth to a rapist's child?

How many more lives will abbott and the far right destroy?

Well of course Abbott says they will "eliminate rapes"....and of course by that they mean "We will IGNORE rapes."

A shame that O’Rourke was the Dems choice. Pretty much handed Abbott another term.
 
Well, at least rapists and family members who rape little sisters and cousins will get to see their bastard children brought into the world instead of watching them being aborted. But then they have to contend with watching the women they raped beat and abuse the children they were forced to bring into the world. That's before the children are taken away by child protective services and placed in foster care where they will likely be raped by foster parents and foster sons. Yep, the Repubs have this all figured out, don't they? :rolleyes:

What in the world is the reasoning behind the governor's comment?

Why would strict anti-abortion laws discourage rape?


Is he saying that women would then be more careful about whom they date in order to prevent being raped if they say "NO"?
