Gov Gavin Newsom is on FIRE...

I can't see Newsom winning the primary but that's probably because I personally don't like him much. That being said I like how he is stepping forward to pump up the Dems. The Dems are already energized and keen to vote but this may just be what is needed to build up party favourabilty. Will be interesting to see if he moves the polls.

Yeah, I am sure when Trump is trolling that upsets you less. Or when some Trump supporters come on here to whine about Newsom trolling but they themselves aren't trolling, amirite?
Who do you think your talking to? Where in my post history do I ever defend trump or his supporters?

Holy shit I can't believe I'm having real conversations about this.

So, let me get this right: You have an issue with Newsom "trolling" Trump and called it childish. You SAY you aren't defending Trump, but what is knocking Newsom for mocking Trump all about then? Sounds like defending Trump to me. I mock Trump all the time. I will gladly do it again. Am I "trolling?"
If you STILL don't get my view, look at the other reactions to your earlier comment. We DO get it. Mocking, criticizing, blasting, the inane actions of Trump is ONLY "trolling" to those who are overly sensitive to any criticism or mocking of Trump.
But, by all means, tell us again you are not defending Trump while accusing Newsom of trolling when every politician in the land uses the same tactics.

Every politician tries to imitate the way Trump talks? Overly sensitive? Cause I said it was childish? What?

In what way is it defending Trump when I stated many times that Trump speaks and acts like a toddler?

I wonder how long he's going to keep this up. It's very childish...

As long as Governors Abbott and others want to keep weaponizing redistricting, I guess.

Yea, but as we all know, there is only one way to approach a playground bully. You have to throw it right back at him and harder than he bullied you. Have you noticed the lack of response from Trump? He's a child who just doesn't know what to say.

I have a bad feeling contested elections and resultant political violence are in America's not-too-distant future. I think we're watching our collapse unfold before our eyes. I'm not saying Newsom is necessarily wrong, but that it has come to this is a pretty good indicator as to the state of the republic.
You understand that in all measured studies and polling between two politicians, if Politician A negotiates and gets 40% of what they wanted, while the other politician also gets 40%, and the remaining 20% goes to neither side, this would be considered—by most measures—a successful negotiation.

But then there’s Politician B, who negotiates and gets 0%, but refuses to compromise on anything. Overwhelmingly, voters will choose Politician B every time. People—especially Americans—often dislike compromise, even when it’s in their best interest. (This is one reason Democrats often lose.)

If you want to succeed in politics, you have to project a no-compromise, scorched-earth approach. That’s how you win—even if you don’t actually mean it.

I have a nasty churning in my gut (and i'm sure it isn't gas) that in Oct./Nov 2026 (probably around Halloween) we're in for a "terrorist attack" & Trump will use that as an excuse for "delaying" elections until "safety can be guaranteed".

Newsom is on fire? I mean, I don't know that he's actually a flamer but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he "experimented" here and there.

You think he was funny.

You must like Colbert too.
He's mocking Trump by sounding just like Trump and it's hilarious.

Anybody that's not in the MAGA cult is laughing their ass off.

And probably some MAGAs too. Definitely a bunch of young Trump voters are laughing. The ones that hate him now.

Delaying an election would be too obvious and at too high a risk of failing. The Heritage Foundation is full of very smart and cunning people, and I would suggest the ramp up of ICE, CBP, and the military assisting police with law enforcement are simply probing for how much this administration can legally get away with before the judiciary intervenes.

There is not going to be a Reichstag fire to take control and delay an election, there is almost certainly going to be voter suppression and abuse of executive power to interfere in elections.
