To a ridiculous argument as yours, I frequently respond in kind, with something even more ridiculous. ;)
 
What exactly is the problem with local and state government monitoring the feds in their backyard? This is a good way to prevent problems, no matter if they're deemed unlikely or not, such as trespass on private land. The feds do it all the time with local police forces, so this is just as wise a precaution.
