I mean, some guys keep drooling over her. Nice tits, and all that.

But..............

Slow news day?

That type of surgery is becoming a common thing in some countries. South Korea is going nuts with it.
One of my wife's friends goes to South Korea often. (She works for Samsung)
She talks about how prevalent the whole Change-your-looks thing is the Big Deal.
She's not racist when she says "I walk down the street and it's strange when I see women AND men that look a lot like each other."
"I've been going to South Korea for 15 years and Yes..It's very different. LOOKS are everything."
"lots of men are wearing lipstick also"

Well, anyway...I let Lauren do her thing. The world is a changing.

Yep. All the K-Pop singers look identical.

I am a Democrat, but I think she is pretty damn hot personally.

Her body is her own business. Your OP looks and functions very much like bog-standard sexism and objectification.

OHHH NOOOO! Here we go with the accusations of sexism and all that. Dude! I am a guy and I love hot babes! There is nothing wrong with that. It's natural. One can admire the beauty of a woman. It's not a crime to be a heterosexual male.

Well my response isn't. I'm gay and I think she looks and acts like a bimbo.

I wasn't quoting or responding to your post.

I don't think so. Disrespecting Boebert is not the same as misogyny. Boebert is an idiot.
What would you be thinking if this was an OP posted by a conservative about a Democrat politician, say Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? It's incredibly low-brow stuff at best. If there's plenty of legitimate stuff to criticize Boebert on, why would anyone go with an approach that looks and functions like objectification and sexism? Possibly just not thought through very carefully, which happens to the best of us at times.

This is a really weird thread. Who cares what surgeries she’s gotten. She’s a politician not an actress. I think there’s more important things to be focusing on.

I know, but still, he probably just saw a beautiful woman and couldn't help but notice. It's natural. No big deal. Just because a hetrosexual male notices a beautiful woman doesn't mean he is sexist or objectifying her. We can't help but notice.

that’s not what he’s doing. As far as I can tell the OP is shaming her for having cosmetic surgeries.

The OP shouldn't shame her for her cosmetic surgeries. She is very beautiful! I can't help but notice and admire her.

"Noticing"? Is that all that you think happened? We certainly can help ourselves from wolf-whistling or yelling out "Nice tits" or even more vulgarly "Are they real?" Or in this case, from posting it on public forum intended for discussion of politics.

I get it. No one shames Nancy Pelosi for getting plastic surgery, but then she has been an intelligent and strong force within Congress. I think Lauren Boebert is more likely to get shamed because she presents herself as an unintelligent "Real Housewives of Colorado" idiot. There is nothing behind the facade, so the facade is what we focus on.

You make a fair point. I certainly wouldn't whistle at a beautiful woman and say "NICE TITS!" or "Are they real?" Generally, if I talk to a beautiful woman I don't compliment her because that could creep her out. Instead, I just comment on something around me or ask her opinion about something and then follow up with trying to discuss with her about her occupation, favorite recreational activities, and depending on the situation, sometimes her dreams. Just to sort of get a natural conversation flowing which doesn't feel awkward.

Ask yourself. Who might be my intended audience. Then ask yourself if you understand the concept of mockery. Watch some late night and notice what they poke fun at. Hint: the target was not who you seem to think it is. Mind you, figuring out the intended target might require some sagacity.
