A Republican congressman upset by some of the social media posts he’s read in the wake ofWednesday’s fatal shooting of far-right activistCharlie Kirk made a really, really extreme proposal.

Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.)took to X on Thursday and vowed to “use Congressional authority and every influence with big tech platforms to mandate immediate ban for life of every post or commenter that belittled the assassination of Charlie Kirk.”

So this is the party of freedom, right?

We don't live in a free country anymore.

You know, on the anniversary of 9/11 I think it's appropriate to point out that Osama Bin Laden won. He won because he forced us to change who we are. Beyond the fact that he's proposing a new slave system ... what's striking is that he assumes the monopolization of media and money is so extreme, that the social media companies can carry it out for him.
