GOP Debate March 3, 2016

I do, too, except that I'd say the "minimizing the loss of all lives." All lives matter (to borrow a well known sentence).
With all due respect, when a country attacks this nation, not all lives matter.

I disagree. The powers that be attack. The ordinary people don't. They're just trying to go about their lives in a war torn country. Many Japanese citizens totally disagreed with what their emperor had done, but they are the ones who paid the price. We killed many Iraqis who were actually American sympathizers. And of course children are never at fault and should never have to pay the price for what adults have done.

From the looks of the highlights & recaps, it's turning into another clown car!

Yeah, I thought things might improve with fewer candidates onstage, but I watched the first hour or so and this was the worst debate.....so far.

Debate thoughts: I think Trump, Kasich, and Cruz all did well. Rubio didn't seem to hurt himself, but didn't do himself any good. Kasich seemed most presidential, maybe. But not as confident or sure in his opinions as candidates normally are. That may be his manner of speaking, though. I'm not that familiar with him.

I think the worst debate was the one the candidates complained about. The one when the questions focused on the candidates personally and how they appeared in the media and such. The questions were ridiculous; the candidates were right to complain.

Agreed, but I think Trump was forced into citing poll numbers as a defensive gesture way too much.
Kasich seems like a decent guy...humble even.
I don't think that humility plays well with the GOP crowd.

Maybe so....don't the candidates complain before/during/after each debate?
The bar seems pretty low.
I think there are still a few debates left, though.
It seems like there are a lot more debates this go-round, although I think there are actually fewer.
Maybe I'm just paying more attention this time.

Nobody can vote for Trump in good conscience and with a straight face after that.

Worst debater in political history. Reminds of the porn start that ran for California governor.

Kasich is the folksy guy that plays best one on one. You could see the difference as soon as he got off the stage and talked with O'Reilly. Heck, he even said so himself to O'Reilly. But you saw something about him too in that moment.

You can picture him in a real world governing situation with him saying, "You know, Jim, we have to do this...but here's what I am going to do for you. [...] What do you say, you with me?" /Handshake, possible pat on the back and smile.

Doesn't translate well to television debates if the audience wants tough replies, and it certainly doesn't work if the primary base wants a bloodbath--which they do.

Kasich disappeared for long stretches, popping up only to give capsule history lessons on national politics in the 1980s and 1990s and Ohio politics in more recent years—he was involved, in case you hadn’t heard.
Who Won the Republican Debate in Detroit? - The Atlantic

THe "I am the teachers pet" thing Kasich does annoys the hell out of me but there could be a good reason for doing it, but " I helped Ronald Reagan"?? WFT? Everyone knows that the voters want fresh this year, so fresh that Trump has been winning this thing for 7 months, and so Kasich decides we need to be reminded that he was and insider back in the 80's?? For at least three debates now he reminds us that he worked with Rumsfeld, a guy who needs to be disappeared like Cosby........WHY??

No wonder he is losing.

I just had to get back up off the floor - YOGA...LOL.. You never know, he's very flexible.

easily the best line of the debate, though I though Cruz's attacks landed a lot better

Ironic since "Eating a Booger" is pretty much the theme for the GOP this election year.

I don't see how she can get out of being at the very least indicted, without creating a Constitutional crisis that will dwarf Watergate. I wonder how the Democrats, or either party for that matter, would handle the nominee getting in legal trouble like this after the convention but prior to the general election? And, what if it happens after the general and she becomes President-elect? She will not have taken the oath yet, so will not be potentially protected. My presumption is Obama will pardon her, but whomever she picked as VP and is on the ticket with her will take over, regardless of if it happens after the convention and either before or after the general election.

What a mess.
Obama hates Hillary. He's probably not going to pardon her.

They all ganged up on Trump. That pile-on was... yuuge.

Only makes him look liked the underdog outsider that he is.

Yep. That was a clear, "your numbers don't add up, Donald," moment.

It not going to change anyone's minds, nothing Trump has said has ever added up yet idiots vote for him anyways.

I just pointed out things that Trump says which make the most sense
, unlike the other candidates who ignore such issues.

Here is what you claimed "I think Trump would be likely to join hands with the Europeans in bargaining with Arab states to take in the Syrian refugees, or at least help to set up a safe zone inside Syria."

Here is a Donald Trump says: Trump Says He Would Ban Syrian Refugees From Entering US - ABC News

Funny how what you think Trump would do and what he says are in direct contradiction
