Gloria Johnson's opening ad in her run against Marsha Blackburn (R - NRA)

Great ad. Is every politician 6'3" now? She could have attacked Blackburn even harder, but at least got in the example about healthcare corruption.

She hit on all cylinders... racism, abortion, healthcare costs. Most of the "hot button" issues that her constituency considers important. Well done!

Any lw cliches she missed? LAFFRIOT

Blackburn won her race in 2018 by 10.8%. Will be interesting to see if TN has moved far enough to the left for Johnson.

That republican woman either likes to lie or doesn't know the meaning of words in the English language.

Negotiating for a lower price is one of the basic tenants of capitalism.

All insurance companies negotiate with the drug companies for a lower price.

The VA has always negotiated with the drug companies for a lower price.

All nations that have a national health care system negotiate for a lower price with the drug companies.

Yet that's not socialism. When insurance companies do it, that's ok. That has not hampered the drug company's ability to develop new drugs. One of the dirty secrets of drugs is that the drug companies get millions of dollars from the government in grants to develop new drugs so our tax dollars already pay to develop drugs. The drug companies don't have to pay that money back either. Free money. Great racket if you can get it.

Is she saying that the VA and insurance companies control people's lives?

I find it very hypocritical of her saying using capitalism to negotiate a lower price is government controlling all of our lives but taking away women's body autonomy and reproductive freedom isn't?

That blackburn woman is nothing but a liar and shill for the drug companies.

Now that is a campaign ad.

Kudos!

On January 4, 2022, Faison attended a high school basketball match in which his son was involved in; when a confrontation between the teams occurred during the match, Faison walked onto the court, shouted at a referee, and tried to pull the referee's pants down.[9][10] The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association reported that before pulling the referee's pants, Faison told the referee: "You can't tell me to leave the floor, this was your fault".[10][11] The referee asked that police be called to respond, but no call was made.[10] Faison was made to leave the venue.[11] Later that day, Faison wrote on social media that he "acted the fool tonight and lost my temper", explaining that he wanted the referee to "fight" him; Faison also wrote that he wished to ask for "forgiveness" from the referee.[11] ...
