New poll out today is indeed gloomy news for Biden and team. This poll was conducted Wednesday-Friday, so we'll see if the infrastructure bill passing the House helps or not. This is a very interesting link, full of specifics, but here is one tidbit that really caught my eye. Lots of buyer's remorse about Biden!

"Nearly half of those surveyed, 46%, say Biden has done a worse job as president than they expected, including 16% of those who voted for him. Independents, by 7-1 (44%-6%), say he's done worse, not better, than they expected

Ipsos has him at 48% approval, Emerson at 41. Even Rasmussen had him at 43.

You mentioned the new Emerson poll. In addition to the poll I posted about, I also read the article about that new Emerson poll this morning, and its specifics are interesting too. In that poll, Biden is down 5 points since Emerson's last one (in September).

Yeah, but the polling dates are mostly before the bill passed.

At best for them, it will give them a manufactured shot term opinion poll bounce, however it will not help them in 2022.

Midterms are a year away..the dems can climb out if they want to, but everyone expects the gop to take back at least one section of congress.
The question really is will how bad the damage is.

Typically I'd have no issue with the swing, but we have a bunch of loons in the gop currently.
Mtg is gonna file articles daily because she is a dumb mother****er.

Agreed, we'll see if that House passage changes things.
Biden has significant downward momentum in recent months. I think it will be a challenge to regain confidence among all those who have obviously lost so much confidence in him.
I haven't checked GW polls to see how it played out but I well remember a loss of confidence in GW toward the end of his second term and it felt as if it became contagious. I feel like Biden might be in that pattern.

I'm fairly optimistic that it will start to go back up soon, with the bill, the lower unemployment rate, the stock market....

We'll see how it plays out. I think he will recover as the President but the Dems are in big trouble come 2022 so they better get their sorry asses together and get the BBB bill passed. The American people will then have three years to decide if they like the promised transformation. I think they will because by then all this Covid crap, supply chain crap will be on the rear view mirror and the GOP will be offering......what?

Lets be fair.. its unlikely that the survey polled any of the endless waves of Covid infected illegal aliens waved across the border to be provided plane tickets and 4 star hotel accommodation's.

Having his Energy Sec pick hee-hawing over Americans paying out the ass for heating this winter will do that.

Well, the GOP can offer contrived issues like Critical Race Theory. They can scare people with caravans approaching the border. They can push the Covid-19 death toll up by fighting control measures - their base likes that. They can scream about baby murderers, socialist, and liberals - they are good at that. They can brag about all the bills they are passing to suppress people's votes and circumvent election results.

That's a good platform isn't it?

There is 3 yrs left of a Presidential Term.... so spinning a narrative of "Wild Expectations", does not benefit anything in America as a nation or for American citizen population. (the average person can't even get their individual lives in order within a decades", yet they expect Presidents to wave a magic wand and create some magic process of making everyone's dreams happen in an instance. People need to get off their asses, and use their minds and think and invest themselves in the works that advance nation, state, cities and communities).

I hope the young people of the future "Disband and Make Illegal" ALL POLITICAL PARTIES. And do away with the Electoral College. The Popular Vote should be the only numbers that count when Electing a President.

People are still too ignorant to understand, The President DOES NOT CREATE LEGISLATION, THEY DON'T CREATE BILLS, AND THEY DON'T REATE MEASURES. They "sign into law" those things that are created by Congress. President present an Ideal Agenda with hopes that Congress will understand and create the legislation to achieve the Ideal and Agenda that is proposed.

America does not have, America does not need a Dictator, America does not need to Tyrant and America does not need an Autocratic Melomaniac who thinks they are a Monarch.
AMERICA needs a politically educated and civic educated population who understand and respect the principles and values laid out in The Preamble.

Sure didn't. Got his ass fired for his piss poor performance. Biden might find himself fired if he don't turn this all around
The difference is Biden won't cry foul and fraud and won't try to prevent the peaceful transfer of power because he cares more about America than he does about himself.

I would agree with that, he wouldn't inspire Sedition or anything if he lost. Still, this is his administration, and he has a lot to clean up, but he's got to do better with public perception of his job. The Democrats gotta get their shit together if they want to defend in the midterms and hope to have sway afterwards.

Agreed...what I do like is that those on the left have no problem with calling out their own. No mindless defending of the indefensible.

And therefore, if the results do not line up with the usual, we will hear even more dangerously idiotic lies about stolen elections from people who are trying to steal elections.
The results of 2020 lined-up as expected... if anything, the Republicans over performed, yet they still tried to sell the notion the Dems cheated.

Interesting is that there is actually far more evidence that the Republicans cheated than the Dems. To be clear, however, I don't believe the Republicans cheated, but there is more evidence that they did than Dems did, which is a further testament to the idiocy of their claims.

There's difference in the make up of Parties.

  • The Democrats are a party with right leaning Democrats, Moderate Democrats, Independents, and Progressive Democrats its not a one size fits all, Right Democrat's embrace some Right Conservative Ideas, Moderates try straddled the fence between Conservatism and Liberalism, Independents lean both to Republican and Democrats with a mix that has many floating variables, Progressive want to build for the Future and Support Fair Play Principles in Programs and Services. but lean more right in their ideas, and Progressives are more Futurist Developers. the make up of these groups is Multi-ethnic, and Multicultural. They do not function like a "Collective Cult"
    • They are known for creating Programs for the Nations Improvements, Equality of Person, as Individual, Voting Rights, and Building for an Improved Future for Nation, Investing in People and Promoting Better International Diplomacy, and Rebuilding our many types of Infrastructures. Democrats focus on investing in departments, divisions, and agencies who use the resources in ways that benefit the nation and all Citizens.

  • The Republican party is Conservatives, Right Wing Anti Progress, Religious Zealots with high focus on Religious Dogma, Anti Government Groups, and Race Hate Groups, White Nationalist. Right Libertarians. They have a common denominator of being predominated by white people and with dominant race bias, race bigotry, and religious bias which they "collectively embrace' a high level of historical white nationalist ideology. They function more as a "Collective Cult'.
    • They are known for obsessing over Tax Cut and Dismantling Public Assistance Programs, Creating Wars, and Putting The Wealthy and Industrialist ahead of the Citizen Population and Putting Feeding the Military Industrial Complex, ahead of the Nation's Infrastructures. They claim to be Fiscal Conservatives, but they have never seen a bill they did not fleece for just what they want, They don't worry about budgets when they are in office, because they feel entitled to spend any amount if it primarily benefits just their wants.

How The Mind Gets In Your Way

quote
When it comes to critical thinking, leaders must become aware of how the mind can lead them in the wrong direction. As humans, we have ingrained likes and dislikes. We also have a plethora of beliefs, values, and personal preferences. Therefore, we must be highly aware of our biases. Our success in making important decisions is clearly commensurate with our awareness of ourselves.

Of great importance is how the mind works to protect you. As leaders we must be cognizant of how our mind produces the feeling of “fear” and the mind’s tendency to avoid this negative emotion. Since most decisions contain the element of change, our minds naturally produce feelings of caution. This is because the mind has difficulty anticipating the future.

How the mind works to protect you is great importance. As leaders that cultivate skills in these areas are highly aware of what they must do to minimize the influence of fear and apprehension in decision making. Emotions created by the mind can be minimized by offering the mind important information, data, and plausible scenarios to digest. In essence, we must educate our minds to keep aligned with our need to make a well-informed decision.

Everyone can improve their critical thinking skills by incorporating more data into their decision making process. Identifying what information is an assumption, and challenging these assumptions, leads to better outcomes. Utilization of experts and consultants that have more experience than the team can ensure better decision making. Encouraging continued learning through reading, industry institutes, and conferences is helpful in bringing new data, trends, and information to staff for better decision making. Lastly, using computer technology to aid in decision making will help staff to save time and be better informed regarding the data they need to utilize.
