I bet if you polled the Buffalo area not too many would vote yes to GW.. Just sayin. These folks are getting 7 feet of snow in some places. Sure I know, I know, just snow, can't base climate models on one year or a few days, but it's still funny to poke fun.

Tim-

Got that right.
But those models do seem to need more than their share of apologists, don't they?

Every heat wave or drought is evidence of AGW while extreme cold and snow are unrelated weather events and mean nothing.

This is why they had to rename it to "climate change", because scientifically ignorant people think that "global warming" means we stop having winter.

It was renamed so that it would fit any desired preconceived conclusion.

Or maybe the think it means earth should actually warm which it hasn't in over a decade, just a pause the warmers claim

Dear Climate "Skeptics"

Snowfall is a measure of precipitation, not temperature.

This is like you are "poking fun" at a guy when he steps on the scale and it reads 300 pounds... by calling him short.

Aha....another misconception.

It was changed to "climate change" to explain away the fact so much of what they were predicting was not happening.

I came into use after Gore's Nobel winning documentary that predicted it will all be over by......

wait for it...

2014.

That's why it's now called "climate change", but those who ask questions are never answered, merely yelled at and demonized as a "denier", religiousity instead of science.

I would welcome a little global warming at this point.

I live in Minnesota and the last two winters here were the most brutal I can remember. Two years ago the brutality was that winter just dragged on and on and on. The lakes were still frozen on fishing opener in mid May and it was into June before things started to feel "normal". March and April are usually "spring" but we were getting winter storms and cold until the first week of May. Last year was brutal because of the extreme COLD. The coldest winter for this region on record, I believe... and again it dragged on through "spring". After experiencing two consecutive years of brutal winters mother nature decided to deliver another slap in the face THIS year by sending us a foot of snow and bitter cold last Monday. It's mid November here but we are getting mid January temperatures. Last Saturday it was -13F where I was! It's bad enough when winter overstays it's welcome but now it's showing up early, too?

Global warming? Bring it on!

Quoted for truth...

Heck, it ain't happening in Georgia either. We just had one of our coolest summers and last night it got down to 17 degrees. It don't get down below freezing often, but 17 degrees has to be close to an all time low for this time of year. I kept looking out the window for a man in a red suit, instead of Georgia, I would have swore I was at the north pole.

This is why they changed "Global Warming" to "Climate Change".

This is why they changed "Global Warming" to "Climate Change".

They probably realized that a certain group of people weren't smart enough to understand statistics and trend lines, so they changed it as to not have to explain it to them over and over again. (Nor apparently the difference between weather and climate LOL)

Wasn't it "Zero"?

Apt here anyway

New Coke just became Coke again.

I think Coke Zero came out after people were having issues with the ingredients in Diet Coke but did not want to drink regular coke, or something like that. Maybe Aspartame????

You mean like making a hockey stick graph after extrapolating a very small segment of a sine wave?

It was renamed so that it would fit any desired preconceived conclusion.

Both terms have actually been around for decades.

The last few winters in Western NY have been brutal, and I've lived in Western NY/Southern Ontario my whole life and don't remember it being this cold this long. Look I'm all for global warming, or global freezing, but when it starts to interfere with Football, I get a little peeved..

Oh, and to Deuce... Dude, I was joking and I kind thought I made that clear.

I dunno, when there's a heat wave, or drought it's global warming, but when there are record lows in temperature even for places like Buffalo, naw, it's just fluky and not indicative of climate predictions. LOL

Tim-

You mean 'stupid Americans.' You just Grubered this thread.

climate change

30 years ago everyone was worried about the coming ice age, not its global warming and in another 20 years people will be worried about the ice age again.
