Global Cooling Is Under Way

Trenberth's study (2001?If memory serves), shows that CO2 alone is responsible for 9-26% of radiative forcing depending on weather conditions. So while water vapor overall has a greater impact, even a slight increase in CO2 has an incommensurately larger impact

Is there another study? Maybe by some scientist (I assume Trenberth is a scientist) that may not be as prejudiced in their findings?

You could, at least, provide link?

You're wrong.
But regardless, something other than humans used to cause climate change. Then humans came along with their devil machines and now they overwhelm the sun & all of nature itself.
That's your position?

1)I provided the NAS paper. Do you know what the NAS is? Did you read it?
2) Milankovitch Cycles, increases in TSI, massive vulcanism have all caused changes. But none of those explanations account for the current warming trend. What are you claiming is behind the current rise?

graph-of-temperature-variance-over-the-last-1000-years.jpg

I do love how the axis is labeled ‘degrees C’ but... doesn’t have units.

It’s so Sciencey it doesn’t need them!

It kinda shows the earth was warmer during the medieval warm period than it is now and the medieval time didn't have the oil using machines.

What current rise? The title of this thread is global cooling is under way.

The current rise isn't currently rising, and why have there been such recorded periods of cooling at all?

Um you forgot to include this explanation of the graph

"Figure 1. The graph above represents a simplistic idea of temperature variance of the Canadian Rockies over the last 1000 years. Note where the Midevil warming period begins and ends as well as the years Where the Little Ice Age begins."

You also forgot this part of the study you cited:

The highest recessional rates were recorded in the early decades of the 1900’s with a slow downturn as some glaciers advanced slightly between 1950 and 1970. Over the last few decades we have seen another peak in recession of these glaciers, most likely due to climate change

I don't doubt glaciers are receding due to climate change. I doubt climate change is primarily due to AGW (as you do).

I don't take the word of an AGW climate change enthusiast. There are no facts AGW is the main cause of climate change.

Ah, lemme guess, you don't even understand the topic

Allow me to demonstrate: What is OLR, and why is it decreasing in CO2 absorption spectra?

*chuckle*

Let me pose a question to you: Why is the earth's climate changing? *chuckle*

And your post is a straw man. I don't have to understand your AGW gobbledygook to understand how the earth's climate is changing.

and you forgot to include ...
"Results from the study have shown that on the glaciers mid-elevations accumulation has occurred causing an increase in mass of the glaciers from 2005-2009, therefore it’s questionable that human induced climate change is the number one cause for the generalized loss of glacial ice within the region."

So your position is that the warming of the MWP was only in the Canadian Rockies despite the Vikings settling in Greenland and all that.
Is that right?

Well, at least the 1% of earth represented by the Canadian Rockies. Maybe- god knows how the data was generated- I’m guessing by a pen, graph paper and wishful thinking.

Huh you don't know that one.I'm sooo surprised.

OK here's an EASY one: what's an isotope?

Let me pose a question to you: Why is the earth's climate changing? *chuckle*

Is that right?

The evidence indicates the following:

1) The MWP was regional. The South Pacific was actually colder
2) It was caused by solar changes
3) Temps today are actually higher
