IMHO, his associate's ties to organized crime might worth be looking into, but that should not mean that Guiliani is also tied to organized crime, he just associated with possibly the wrong people. And that, in itself, does not mean that he would be a bad president. IMHO, he would not be a good president for other reasons, but this is not one of them. Just ask Richard Nixon, who was very close to mob figure Bebe Rebozo, even during his presidency.

As far as Guilianai's remarks about his wife, that is nothing. Didn't Hillary assist Bill in making decisions? IMHO, the Democrats have nothing to complain about, that is, unless they want to grant the Republicans their fondest wish by bringing up Bill Clinton themselves.

Now I wouldn't vote for Giuliani. He is an unabashed Liberal. But ABC and NBC are making mountains out of molehills.

nothing trolling about it. There have been four rawstory scandals presented here today. That's true. I find that interesting.

Guiliani would be a bad President because he doesn't know anything and hasn't done anything. The only thing he knows is bad relationships and of being able to say, "I was that guy from 9/11!" Which isn't saying much because he couldn't even get the fireman's vote.

Republicans are doomed in 2008.

I know absolutely nothing about NYC first hand. But it seems to me that there is a very thin line between NYC politics and organized crime to begin with. I often thought the two would weave and intermingle in the day to day workings of that city. Much like Chicago, that's just the way business is done. I would imagine it world be quite difficult to sucessfully serve in New York City as an influential political leader and remain three degrees removed from organized crime. People in charge of sewers are bound to get a little poo-poo on them now and again.

I think Giuliani is fine for New York City. But not for the USA.

I would like to see Ron Paul or New Gingrich get the nomination, but I can live with Thompson. However, I have a feeling that the GOP will put political expediency ahead of ideology, and nominate yet another RINO.

I'm thinking that '08 may be a bit to early for Thompson to run. The GOP will be split between the Coulter/Limbaugh/O'Reilly Republicans and the more level headed Republicans. So, it won't matter who they run, the Democrats are gonna take it, I believe. The GOP has fractured by all appearances.

If the GOP runs another hard rightwingnut, (RINO) too many of their traditional supporters will jump ship and give the Democrats a landslide victory.

If Hillery wins in '08, I think I will take my leave from society altogether and become a recluse never to set foot outside my gate again.

I don't know about Newt man. He was a partly behind all of that "rightwing conspiracy" :mrgreen: partisan witch hunt. He assisted in practically shutting the government down with his partisanship. When I think of the bad side of the GOP, his name is way up there on the list. Screw Newt. He is one of the seeds that put the GOP into the pi$$ poor shape they are in today IMHO. :mrgreen:
