President Donald Trump signed an executive order Thursday to reinstate the Presidential Fitness Test in public schools. and former Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor was at the White House that reinstated the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, even though he said he does not yet know what his specific role will be in helping with the initiative.

Taylor joined Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and other current and former athletes such as Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, and golfers Bryson DeChambeau and Annika Sorenstam for a press event to kick off the challenge’s reinstatement that ended in 2013. Taylor, who was called to the podium to give a few words, said he was there to help Trump in any capacity.

“I’m just proud to be on this team,” Taylor said. “I don’t know what we are supposed to be doing, but I’m here to serve and I’m here to serve you. I’m going to do the best I can for as long as I can.”

I remember the test, the 'teachers' would take us outside and separate us into groups. Obviously it was boys in one and girls in another.

Then they separated the boys further, one was all the kids already involved in sports. Another was the chubby kids and the third was my group, the less popular neglected kids.

The athletic kids got all the encouragement, the chubs got a lot of harassment and shame and the neglected, well, we got neglected, despite holding our own with the sport-os.

It was a huge waste of time as was school in general ...for me anyway. I was really bored in school. Didn't really learn anything new and would often get in trouble for going off script and correcting teachers.
 
I approve of fitness tests......... for EVERYBODY..............

 
I encourage every student in America to deliberately fail this test. Give Trump the lowest pass rate of any president.

What could be the possible thought here? They hired a person on the sex offenders list for paying an underage prostitute ; and they want him in charge of kids physical fitness?

LT was a God in NY when he played for the Giants. I suspect Trump is a big fan, don't know why Trump's staff didn't clue him in or why Trump ignored the fact that the optics would be terrible.

Seems weird that that Donald Trump is making a move to install a fitness requirement in an age where we are the least healthy we've ever been and the only thing anybody can talk about is someone who is there with him visited hookers in 1995?

Wonder why they didn't give Michelle Obama a crap about this when she was pushing for higher health standards

Also, she had at least some leg to stand on as far as practicing what she preached.

Did Michelle run around saying to close the Dept of Education? Did she roll out her plans with people standing next to her that didn’t know what was going on? Were they guilty of having sex with underage hookers?
