It's not illegal for you to stand on a chair in a restaurant and try to look down my wife's blouse. But if you get up to go use the restroom don't be surprized if the restroom light gets flicked off and you receive a boot up your ass.
Forget the legalities, just use some common sense.
I think "provoked" is pretty on point. He followed around TM both in and out of his vehicle. And yeah, TM should have run home with his tail between his legs and called the police to tell them of a friggen stalker.
That's exactly right. Treyvon should have gone straight home, got inside, and locked the door, then called the police...It's a tragedy he didn't do that.
I agree.
And GZ should never have been persistently following TM. He set forth a chain of events and is responsible for his current misery.
Not guilty of murder, but responsible for his own misery.
That's exactly right. Treyvon should have gone straight home, got inside, and locked the door, then called the police...It's a tragedy he didn't do that.
Do you have children?
It's not illegal to follow someone through a neighborhood.
I think we agree for different reasons...The facts of the TM case have no bearing on what a douche this guy is today. And being responsible for his own misery is absolutely true, but that is because he apparently needs some counseling to address his issues...I won't get into the TM case all over again, that is settled, and a jury has spoken...Now, let's hope that the Justice system does the right thing here.
Yes, that would have been the mature smart reaction but were talking about a 17 year old male. I don't know about you but when I was 17-18 yrs old I thought I was bulletproof and would never turn down a fight. I had too much bravado and would really do some stupid things.
What is a shame that the older combatant in this fight didn't take the adult role there.
What we are seeing here is not a new Zimmerman's side but this is the real George people are finally seeing. Living up to the little man complex of wanting to be the tough guy. Just like alcohol induced testosterone some get gun induced testosterone.
Simpleχity;1064178917 said:His second domestic violence arrest (different women) since the Trayvon Martin trial. Zimmerman definitely has anger issues.
Nor is it illegal to walk to the store and back. Trayvon's only crime was that he had the wrong skin color for GZ. You know thugs like Trayvon always get away with it, right?
Irrelevant. You're thinking emotionally, and not rationally.
You have no right to privacy in public until someone is actually threatening you, and walking down the road behind you is not a threat in a legal sense.
Trayvon was not a child, he was old enough to enlist in the Marine Corps... And maybe he shoulda
I still am unsure what really happened.
Well, we shouldn't be...It was laid out explicitly at trial...
It is not emotional. It is rational. How would you act if a grown man was following your kid (teen or otherwise) as he was walking alone at night?
If you saw someone following your teen son as he was walking alone at night.....you would scream to your family to call 911 as you headed out the door with a tire iron.
BTW, at 15, my son was 6'4"...height has nothing to do with nothing. But then again, he is lily white so he would not be suspect.:doh
Protecting a child from a stalker is no way shape or form what Zimmerman was doing.Oh so now you're going to do exactly what you criticize Zimmerman for doing? Grab a deadly weapon and then run out the door to go confront him?
That's not always an appropriate response too, unless like you recognize the guy following your child from the sex offender registry then maybe it would be an appropriate response. They may be seeing where your kid goes because he damage their property and they want to talk with you his parent, or maybe they're not really following it all maybe they're walking to the house beyond yours and happen to be taking the same path. Glad to know though that you are willing to go violent over what could be a big misunderstanding....
So what should I have done about my new neighbors to ask who I am and what I'm doing in my neighborhood after I moved in?
Should I have said **** off this is a free country all walk wherever the **** I want?
Should I grab the tire iron and Ran at them?
Display my gun at them?
Or was the best solution what I did which is walk over them and say hello my name is Erik I just moved into the house right here?
Do you believe that of trayvon Martin had Zimmerman confronted him he said oh my name is Trayvon Martin I live at this townhouse that there would've been a problem at all?
Protecting a child from a stalker is no way shape or form what Zimmerman was doing.
(2) A person who willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly follows, harasses, or cyberstalks another person commits the offense of stalking, a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.
(3) A person who willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly follows, harasses, or cyberstalks another person and makes a credible threat to that person commits the offense of aggravated stalking, a felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.
Nothing Zimmerman does fits these definitions therefore Zimmerman was not stalking trayvon. For it to be stocking you would have to prove that Zimmerman willfully maliciously and repeatedly harassed or followed Trayvon. except he didn't he followed trailing to facilitate a 911 call exactly once. Language matters. Following someone is not in and of itself stalking you are not entitled to privacy for anything you do in public view
In fact your idea is even worse because you seem to think you should just take the law intoyour own hands, and not only that you seem to want to take a law that doesn't even exist into your own hands with a deadly weapon.
Tell me this what would you do if it turned out the guy "following quote your child was just walking home to his own house?
Poll a bunch of moms and ask what they would do if they saw a grown man following their kid (yes, including teenagers) while the kid was walking alone in the dark. Yeah...911 would be up there...but carrying a bat and saying "get the f.#@K away from my kid" would be pretty high up there. Following people - especially people walking alone in the dark is creepy. You should be worried if someone does this to you.
I have been mugged in a similar situation. I sensed I was being followed. By the time the mugger put his hand on my shoulder - if he was only gonna ask me the time - he would have been **** out of luck. You follow someone like that....the subject gets their adrenaline in overdrive and **** happens. My perp figured that out the hard way.
I think Trayvons age had more to do with suspicion then race.
Zimmerman called police on a non emergency line and apparently followed T to update the police dispatcher as to his location, nothing either party did was illegal at this point. However somewhere along the line Trailane Martin is this connected with George Zimmerman's head and Georgia minute some point was on his back. There were no injuries to trayvon other than the gunshot wound. A mutual fight and there would be bruises on T, but there were not. This is evidence and those are facts. Facts are stubborn things, to quote a famous boston attorney Who handled a controversial murder defense
Your evidence is that GZ couldn't land a blow? He's the type of guy that follows 17 year old "thugs" and beats up women... he's a *****. That's why he didn't land a blow.
The true fact is, no one but George Zimmerman, Trayvon Martin, and God know what happened after he followed TM into the area between apartments. ke.
And you evidently know everything that happened there too, why didn't you go testify for the prosecution? Your testimony would probably have been more convincing than Rachel Jeantal for sure!
No, I don't know anything for sure. I know that GZ obviously has reason to embellish his story, and the retelling of events don't sound very truthful. I know it was reckless and that no one should have died that day nor did anyone need to.
The difference being your guy actually laid hands on you first. None of the physical points to Zimmerman putting hands on trayvon first.
If you're not comfortable with someone exercising the right to walk down a public street that their taxes pay for, then maybe you should just lock your kids in a cage and never leave your house. I don't automatically assume the worst in people. The vast majority of people in public mean you no harm, so to pretend like anyone doing something you don't approve of as a threat is really to me signs of paranoia. You're telling me Trailane Martin was frightened when he was walking inside a gated community and a guy driving a somewhat decent car inside the gated community was watching him while they were all under streetlights, and Trey Vaughn's response is to go to an unlit walkway behind buildings instead of go home, or walk up and ask what the issue is?
This was a private neighborhood in a gated community, it was not some county road at three in the morning with no one else in sight... Or an inner-city Slum
If Trayvon went straight home and threw no punches he would be alive today exactly someone was very reckless and he paid for it dearly.
Then there's the inconvenient fact that all of Zimmermans retelling align with the evidence including the timestamps on the cell phone the geographical description of landmarks, his injuries (which contrary to popular belief do not need to be able severity that impresses you, Who the **** are you to rate someone else's injuries anyway?) seriously look at me right now and tell me that George Zimmerman is smart enough to have orchestrated all of this perfectly to get away with the killing in a manner you describe...
