The bible belt, aka southern states has the highest percentage of blacks. Your lying insinuation is that conservative Christians divorce more often. Blacks are rarely conservative, but they have much higher divorce rates than do whites, thus leftwing divorce skews the 'bible-belt' numbers.

The great majority of religious people that post here on the forum, esp. the Catholics, do little but post hate and intolerance and absolute glee at imagining others going to Hell (in very graphic terms.) They are repressed and usually misogynistic and cruel to anyone they feel is 'different.' Their level of willful ignorance regarding science and evolution in particular is mind-boggling.

So I would definitely NOT want to hang out with more than 1 or 2 of the outspoken "Christians" that post here.


And I am a practicing Christian. People like you and the "Christians" I described shame all decent "people," including good Christians...and do nothing but drive people away from Our Lord's message of peace, compassion, brotherly love, and forgiveness.

We've already explained the weakness in the 1999 Barna study which your article is based on. The 2% atheist divorce figure was based on atheist divorces as a percent of all divorces. That's absurd because there are so few atheists relative to the population, and because so many atheists just shack up. The correct calculation is atheist divorces out of the number of atheist marriages. When you figure that, you get a number a lot higher than those for Catholics. Predictably so.

Anyone with an ounce of common sense should be able to figure this out. You have practicing Christians who value marriage and commitment, then you have atheists who aren't real big on commitment, and more about doing what they want. And you're telling me the second group has a lower divorce rate than the first? Not only is it incorrect, it doesn't pass the smell test.
