Gazan refugee camps?

While I do believe that Israel is justified in its military response to Hamas, the sad truth is that Palestinian civilians are receiving the brunt of the suffering and that they have no means of escape. I saw the idea mentioned in another thread (can't remember which one) that Israel establish refugee camps inside Gaza as a true "safe zone" for Palestinian civilians, and I think that would be a useful and effective way of minimizing civilian deaths while accomplishing military objectives. Obviously, there should be no weapons allowed inside the camps (or people identified as Hamas militants or high-ranking civil leaders), the movement of civilians to the camps should be voluntary, and the camps should have adequate conditions for their refugees.

So, should Israel construct refugee camps for Gazan civilians? If so, would that lend further legitimacy to their military operations against Hamas?

There's over 200,000 Palestinians displaced and in shelters at the moment. Kinda puts the whole bull**** story to bed that all these Palestinian civilians are staying in their homes, happy to be used as human shields at the request of Hamas doesn't it.

For those civilians it certainly does. However, no doubt you have also seen the videos of human shields swarming onto the rooftops of targeted buildings.

I don't know who claims that the human shields are happy about it. My understanding is that some Palestinians are brainwashed or forced to take such roles as a matter of living under the terrorist rule of Hamas.

Of course i don't deny that and i remain sympathetic to the plight of the ordinary civilians there.

They should remove themselves if they do not wish to be cannon fodder! Hamas has no claim to that territory, and the fact that Israel let's them be there in the first place should make them a little more loyal to Israel!
