A Florida State University mass shooting survivor told NBC’s Hallie Jackson that suspect Phoenix Ikner was a member of the pro-Trump Turning Point USA and was kicked out of a college club for “White Supremacist” views.

News broke Thursday afternoon of a mass shooting at FSU that killed two and injured five others. Ikner was taken into custody and charged with the shooting.

On Thursday’s edition of NBC News NOW’s Hallie Jackson NOW, a survivor of the attack named Reid Seybold told Jackson he knew the suspect, and that he was a member of the Florida chapter of Trump ally Charlie Kirk’s TPUSA.

He also said Ikner was asked to leave another campus club over his views:.

Not surprising, is it?

One random guy saying this is not enough for me.

Why would someone just make it up in an interview?

I would not count on FL or federal authorities to reveal it if they know it.

I remember that.

Kirk's organization was a pipeline for damaged teens into the alt right. That was a known thing and pretty well accepted until he was shot and he his life story got completely re-written.

I don't know, but I want to see better proof before I buy it. Witnesses exaggerate all the time.

It follows a pattern. At least 2 mass shooters were acting in his beliefs.

Stats show that 63% of those killed in mass shootings are killed by right wingers. Why would you question that a right winger shot someone

Just another MAGA killer.

What are we supposed to say? MAGA rhetoric is dangerous, you have to stop it, let's crack down on all MAGA groups because they're spreading hate!

Anyone can join Turning Point, but they kicked the guy out for his extreme views. Thank you for reminding everyone that Turning Point does not endorse white supremacist views.

The rhetoric in headlines alone is doing what our enemies couldn’t.

We are going to need some corroboration at this point.

The story is getting more awkward each passing week, last I knew the trial was delayed until March 2026 over a defense move suggesting time to prepare because of a change of lawyer for a capital murder trial (prosecution seeking the death penalty and seemingly argues the same) and the sideline stories on what the ideology of Phoenix Ikner was is all over the spectrum.

All we seem to agree on is he was on ADHD medication, perhaps a white supremist (or at least affiliated himself with a few white supremist groups,) and he apparently bought into the 2020 election fraud stories.

This is exhausting.
