He backs very conservative views such as persecution of lgtbtq people. He decriminalized domestic abuse, thus having extremely reactionary gender views. He is a darling of far right politicians such as Marine le Pen and Donald Trump. The reason he might not qualify as Conservative anymore is not because he is leaning more left, but because he is leaning even more right.
