Franklin Graham blasts Buttigieg for being gay

??? Being straight is ‘Not something to be flaunted, praised or politicized" either.

The GOP has never been less "homophobic" than it is today. What do you mean, "become"?

Not all Republicans had been paranoid about gays. If they had, I would have left the party long before this, because I don't have a fetish to dwell on what other adults do in the privacy of their bedrooms. It wasn't until the GOP went all in with the Christian right that it changed to what it is today.

Hypocrites like Franklin Graham, who deemed Trump's affair with a porn star to be none of our business (a few decades after saying Clinton's affair was a public matter) represent everything bad about the Republican Party.

I suspect about half the votes he gets wil be specifically because he is gay. The ultimate virtue signal.

You're wrong about that. In no way would any amount of votes that were possibly cast merely because of his sexual orientation could be considered a 'virtue signal'. If anything, it could be a signal that people just think he's the better candidate to be president of the US because he's intelligent, logical and likeable.

Nah. You're thinking of Trump and much his base. That's why Trump's main campaign strategy to excite his base is to make racist attacks. It's his "virtue signalling" to the base. That's the ultimate virtue signalling. Look at how well it works.

Do you support Trump, and his virtue signalling?

Nah, only the other half that vote for him will be for such characteristics.

What racist attacks would that be?

PDA's are IMHO tacky, regardless of sexual orientation.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

So your support of Pete Buttiegieg ISNT based solely on his being gay. So...then it must be about his record of economic success in South Bend...right? Or maybe his race relations in South Bend. Oh wait...wait...his record on fighting crime and violence in South Bend. Or maybe its his foreign policy positions...you know what THEY are...right? Or his plan for economic growth and prosperity?

Without running off to google it?

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight......

Every time I read vile comments from these fake Christians like Graham, I remind myself how bad the Republican Party has become.

I'm so sick of the homophobes in the GOP. What is with their obsession with other peoples' bedroom preferences anyway?

Can't let the ghey spread yo.

He won't get the nomination.

I don't think Franklin needed to do this, however its his call, not mine.
Sexual deviance is what it sounds like. Deviation from the natural purpose of sex.
That deviation both scares and repulses allot of people. That's not gonna change just because a bunch of gay people say it should.
I fact, all the howling will likely have the opposite effect.

I personally have no issue with gay people. I have an issue with the people who think they should push the bounds of public behavior.
Little 'Bugg-gig' doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting anywhere.
Franklin would have been well advised to just let his campaign wither naturally.

Not all Christians believe in the Trinity or the entirety of the Bible as absolute truth. Some only believe in what Jesus actually said himself as truth. Which would mean his faith as a Christian (with such or similar beliefs) would not conflict with his being gay. They could easily mesh. It is all about what that person believes, not the majority.

Sorry, but Franklin Graham has lost whatever little bit of cred he had as Christian leader by his continued silence on the blantant moral bankruptcy of Trump. As with all Conservatives that failed to speak on Trump, they wear sullied reputations. The Conservatives have yielded the moral and decent high ground in favor their own personal corruption. Hillary was right, Conservatives as a group, have, in their deafening silence, have shown themselves to be deplorable.

Franklin Graham should honor his father's reputation by sitting down and shutting up. He has proved himself a charlatan.

:lamo

How does that interview show anyone, especially Santorum, getting 'owned'? He freely acknowledged the hypocrisy that might be displayed by calling out ones actions and not the others. It didnt look like he was uncomfortable at ALL stating that as his opinion.

The difference would be this. If Donald Trump ran and said "Im a Christian and a proud adulterer and leftists should just accept that because thats how God made me" then obviously he would be an idiot and full of **** and subject to scorn. That isnt what has happened. What HAS happened and why this became an issue in the first place is because Buttigieg wanted to play the role of victim and fabricated outrage and attack where none existed, KNOWING the idiot leftists would fall for it. And they did. Graham didnt attack him for being Christian. He didnt attack him for being gay. The difference in the two's position is that Buttigieg is proudly proclaiming he is, as a Christian, "sinning". That isnt what I say he is doing and it isnt what Graham says he is doing. Its what God says he is doing and what Buttigiegs own Christian faith says he is doing. But again...who fabricated this whole thing? Who is it that made this whole thing an issue? Buttiegieg...not Graham.

No. He said that his beliefs, as a Christian and as they are, do not conflict with his sexuality. Not all Christians believe that everything in the Bible is absolute truth. Most Christians have something in the Bible that they see as not really true or to be taken as "allegory", yet when someone only believes in what Jesus said (which was nothing against homosexuality), they aren't "Christian" or they are being hypocrites?

Interesting...

Graham is a hypocritical talibornagain. He only condemns those he doesn't like.

Adultery is a choice. Being gay isn't.

Your post is just one steaming pile of cognitive dissonance, and you know it. Buttigieg is not playing a victim...every single heterosexual candidate talks about their marriage partner, the right wing guys like to pretend they are moral beacons because they know that the idiot rightists fall for it.

Buttigieg is showing America that the evangelical right is completely full of crap.

So to summarize, Trump is a better Christian than Buttiegieg because he didn't campaign on being an unrepentant adulterer, he did the good Christian thing and lied about it, paid people off, and asked others to lie for him.

Regardless of your feelings on whether or not you were born gay, does that change the description of homosexuality in both the old and new testament as a sin?
