No, Evil, if you read my opening sentence once again, you will see I am referring to "The whole European Union ...". My opening post is a call to reject sectarianism and join with the French people at this time. Les gens sont les meilleurs.Fine sentiments, but you are talking about France, right? Haughty, judgemental, oppositional, chauvinistic France. I agree with their principled stance against militant Islamists trying to control the terms of public debate through the application of terrorism. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Blowing up environmentalist's boats in New Zealand, breaking into foreign banks, vacillating on NATO membership, Elf-Aquitaine scandals. France is a European node for corruption at the highest levels and is a champion of underhanded politics as well as forceful neo-colonialism in North Africa. Libya is still in spasms over French leadership of the 2011 military intervention and Mali is a simmering cauldron ready to boil over in blood in an effort to throw the French military out.
Beware the French, they can be a scurrilous lot if needs be.
Cheers and be well.

no France must stand for Catholicism like their kings didFrench Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin on Friday warned of more attacks as the country was placed on maximum security alert following Thursday’s deadly attack by a knife-wielding man at the Basilica of Notre-Dame in the southern city of Nice.
“We are in a war against an enemy that is both inside and outside,” Darmanin told a French radio station. "We need to understand that there have been and there will be other events such as these terrible attacks.”

The whole European Union must join with France which stands for secularism and rejects the influence of sectarianism. There are member states in the EU where Christianity is established as part of the prevailing culture, notably Poland and Hungary and where to be Catholic defines nationality. Europeans are being forced to make a choice these days and the French are leading the way. There is a bright future which includes all of us regardless of our private religious affiliations and none. Let us be inspired with the principles of Liberty, Equality, Fraternity, and to believe in ourselves in the knowledge that People are the Greatest.

the only way to peace is for different defined lands and countries not social mixing-https://necsi.edu/good-fences-the-importance-of-setting-boundaries-for-peaceful-coexistenceGerman President Steinmeier cautions against 'hate and xenophobia' after Nice attack
After the deadly attack at a church in Nice, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier told DW France and Europe must stand up to acts of brutality. He also said hate should not dictate the response to the attack. German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier condemned the violence in an exclusive interview with DW on Friday. He said his thoughts "are above all with the relatives" of the three victims who were killed. At the same time, he called for a response that is not dictated by "hate." "I believe what we in Europe, and not just in France, must do now is to stand up to this act of brutality and the Islamist motives behind it. In our democratic societies, above all, we should not base the response of the state on a course determined by hate and xenophobia," Steinmeier said.
It appears the German president is offering leadership on behalf of the European Union pressing for solidarity in standing up against Islamist brutality and presenting an alternative based on human decency and social cohesion.
It takes only one zealot, not even in Europe for one month, to perform a terrorist act with a knife. There is only so much we can do to police our communities.Macron was so diligent in defending European values.
He imposed sanctions against Russia, and the French air force protects the Baltic States, NATO exercises are held near the borders of Russia, and he supported Ukraine ...
Strange, what did Macron miss? Why don't the french have a sense of security?...

I cannot agree that a French schoolteacher and worshippers in Nice and an Orthodox priest in Lyon are in the slightest responsible even in part for the gruesome attacks they suffered.CBS:
The French cooperated with the US when it suited their goals. In the last century they cooperated with you when you came to repel the Imperial German armies from French soil. Then they cooperated with you to repel Nazi German armies from occupying France. Then they dropped you in a sh**-show of imperial entanglement that cost your country another 50,000 dead in SE Asia and they almost succeeded in sucking you into a bigger mess in Africa, a mess which ended the Fourth Republic. They sold Nuclear technology to the nascent State of Israel and some other more nasty regimes around the world. They filled the coffers of their national wealth by selling arms hither, thither and yawn to dictators and revolutionaries alike. Then they pulled out of NATO. I could go on right up to the modern day and the Libya debacle but this is a tangent on Jean-S's OP, so I will spare all more details.
Yes, France is taking a principled stance now in opposition to Islamist terrorism but that terror, as monstrous as it is, is in part coming at France due to France's foreign policy and abuse of others in its pursuit of national interests.
Cheers and be well.

With all due respect, what does France expect when it allows in so many immigrants with different social values?
Instead of mouthing inspirational words, might it not be time to limit immigration and deport some of the bad apples?
(I have read that even Sweden was preparing to deport some refugees.)
What different social values? Or rather, what social values?
And "so many".. what exactly does that mean?
I see that you live in Denmark.
I have read that some people in your country are also concerned about immigration.
In the past, I have read (in various sources) that some Danes are not pleased with the immigration situation in their country.
By the tone of your questions, I am guessing that the immigration policy of your country is, however, agreeable to you.
So I shan't waste your time explaining what I mean by "so many" and "social values."
I wish you and your country the best of luck.
The Nice killer had only just arrived in Europe and did not have a right of residence. He clearly came to murder. With the collapse of civilization in the Middle |East due to the Anglo-American invasion of Iraq and American involvement in Afghanistan, the civil war in Syria, and the NATO invasion of Libya, there have been millions of refugees seeking asylum. It is not easy finding an Islamist before he does his awful deed in the circumstances we are facing in France and the rest of Europe. With all due respect, what does France expect when it allows in so many immigrants with different social values?
