There in fact were other elements in the crowd that stormed the capital. FBI agents were reported to be among them and the fbi doesn't deny it.

We actually KNOW that one of the people inside the Capitol was John Sullivan, a known political activist who has a history of organizing protests AND counterprotests with the intent of starting shit that he can then get on video. There were obviously others involved that actively agitated the crowd and provoked violence but we aren't hearing much about those people.

That article talks to discussions about NG support before the 6th. It is fairly routine matter for the NG to be called to provide support for traffic control etc when large crowds gather in DC. Who made what reckon relative to that is totally irrelevant to Trump's duty to act that day.

My concern centres around Trump's actions on January 6th as the riots unfolded. Trump as CiC did not call acting Secty of Defense Miller to even enquire about NG involvement and status much less order immediate deployment. Trump sat there for hours watching the events unfold and did nothing. I don't care what discussions may or may not have occurred prior to the 6th but on the 6th the CiC had a sworn obligation to ensure the safety of Congress and he did nothing. He did nothing. That should give every Trump supporter/defender/excuser pause and to call into question his motivations. There is no sugar coating or explaining away his inaction. He ignored his oath and the plight of Congress......why we will probably never know but whatever his reasons were they were not in the best interest of the country. Any Republican who puts that man back in the WH is a disgrace to their country.

There should be no *****footing around this. Trump wanted the insurrection to succeed and did nothing that might have impaired it's chances of succeeding. That was the entire reason for the "delay". To give the plotters time to do their dirty work. Once it was clear that legislators were safe from the mob the insurrection had failed and it was no thanks to the President. We can thank the preparedness of the legislators who had a plan, rehearsed it and it worked on Jan. 6th. They never dreamed that the terrorists that it would thwart would be "Americans" sent by the POTUS though.

Did FOX pundits actively agitate their audience in the weeks leading up to January 6th?

While no one said anything so brazen as "MARCH ON THE CAPITOL AND BURN THE ****ER TO THE GROUND" it was clear that many in the mob believed that when Trump was telling them to march, fight like hell, and stop the steal, he wasn't suggesting they accomplish that by linking hands and singing "Kumbaya" in front of the police.
