YouTube - Fox reporter: Bush 'inherited the 9/11 attacks'

GOLER: This president inherited a budget surplus, but he also inherited what he called “the trifecta of bad times.” There’s the president headed out to Marine One right now. […] He inherited the 9/11 attacks. He inherited the recession and he inherited some tough times on Wall Street.

He inherited the 9/11 attacks?

I see the attempted rewriting of history by the right wing in the US is at full speed.

Inherited a bad economy? Inherited 9/11?? I can see how maybe in the 30's, 40's they might be able to pull something like this off in re-writting history but it's the freaking 21st century, you can find transcripts, audio files, ideo files, documentation and various other analysis of just about anything via a few clicks of a button.

"There's alot of clapping and chearing going on so let's listen in" wow, these guys, I guess they're feeling very ****ty right now considering that no longer will the white house be faxing them their talking points:lol:

I think FOX News inherited the intelligence of Gomer Pyle.

Inheriting the 9/11 attacks is a pretty bad way of putting it. Laziness on the writers part.

Inheriting the bad economy is pretty spot on. Unfortunately, trying to explain to liberals that a GOVERNMENT BUDGET surplus (which was smoke and mirrors that we've already debated heavily) and the health of the entire UNITED STATES economy are two different things. /facepalm

The 9/11 attacks were being planned long before Bush became president. He inherited that situation.

So why wasn't any thing doe to prevent the attacks on his watch?

There were strict rules at airports before 9/11. Not that we had any idea that airports would be the target of the terrorists. One airport screener foiled a terrorist plot before 9/11.

What did Clinton do to stop attacks? What did anybody do to stop 9/11 attacks before 9/11?

And given that it hasn't happened again in 8 years says a lot. Nobody imagined that was the end of it. Bush kept us safe.

Pfffffft that is too funny:rofl

I expect you'll give Obama the same quarter then, right?

You aren't going to blame Obama for Bush not catching bin Laden are you?

Oh, they couldn't have pulled up to the WTC with a truck full of explosives. They couldn't have blown up a university. They couldn't have loaded a barge with explosives. They couldn't have contaminated our water supply with diseases.

No. It HAD to be by crashing airplanes into the WTC.

You're being ridiculous.

I'm well known for being respectful of our elected officials. You won't see me calling our new president a liar or pretending I'm smarter than him.

Using Fox logic, Obama has inherited many a problems from Bush. It's simply amazing on how the hordes watch Fox, CNN or whatever mainstream media news agency when you can see it as plain as day on youtube.

First of all, this is not "Fox Logic." The reporter is telling us what Bush said. This was not his opinion. Bush said he inherited this "trifecta" of problems, not Fox.

Yes, Bush did inherit a recession. Yes, he inherited a terrorism problem. Yes, he inherited the Enron mess.

Is this really the best example of Fox bias out there?

Hold on, I'm almost done laughing at this statement.

They didn't rewrite history you and sadly others here are just either flippantly stupid or are simplistic moronic Bush bashers.

If you can't figure out how he inherited the act of 9/11 then your to damn stupid to even be addressing the use of the word "inherit".

To say its rewriting history is even dumber.

We should use suicide bombers....net gain in the end.

Oh, you knew? That's absurd! There were a million ways they could have attacked us!

Look, the point is that Fox was not biased in this instance and you are not capable of seeing it. Maybe pay more attention.

Help me out here...and I didn't view the embedded vid...but how does this single instance bloom into a reflection of an "attempted rewriting of history by the right wing in the US"? I'm just curious is all.

Pete, have you see other so-called right-wingers presenting the same, uh, revision of 9/11?

And I am open to someone suggesting that I am addressing this the wrong way because I did not view the vid. I'm only working off of Pete's comments which suggest that the FNC reporter said 9/11 didn't happen on Bush's watch.

I see...so the FNC reporter is not saying that Bush inherited 9/11. What really happened is that a reporter was reporting what Bush said about inheriting problems associated with the economy, terrorism, and corporate fraud?

Why did Pete get it so wrong then?

If, by "rewriting" it, you mean, being the only ones not lying through their teeth about it, sure. Bush increased anti-terrorism funding by 27% and ordered an immediate review of our options for regime change against the Taliban before 9/11-which is already more than Clinton did about al Qaida in eight years.

Just a few of ways Democrats caused 9/11:

-Making it nearly impossible for the FBI, CIA, and police to communicate about terrorist threats.

-Enacting policies that allowed terrorists identified as major threats at the airport to board planes.

-Emboldening Islamic terrorists by retreating from them in Somalia.

-Allowing al Qaida to attack us for nearly a decade with impunity.

-Repeatedly refusing to capture or kill bin Laden.

Congratulations. You've graduated your Media Matters course in how to outrageously misrepresent accurate, balanced coverage as bias.

:applaud

I think its amazing what lengths the liberals will go to bash FNC while ignoring the obvious bias in their media sources. What is the source of this resentment? Is it because their media are getting their clocks cleaned?

Hate to disagree with you here brother but Fox does not have a news channel. It is nothing more than a conservative propaganda channel. There is no news. They simply focus on the Dems and that is it. They do not report on crap. If you want to be a mushroom kept in the dark FNC is the station to watch.

You get more real world news in 10 minutes watching some podunk local news channel than you can get in watching a month of FNC. The Hotel I stay in when I am in California switched sat providers and we lost CNN and now have FNC. I had heard about how bad it was but that was my first actual experience with fox. The first night I turned it on I must sat there listining to all the anti dem crap and kept wondering yeah right now where is the freaking news?????

And I am not a liberal.
