Fox News host Pirro ticketed for speeding at 119 MPH | TheHill

article said:
Fox News host Jeanine Pirro was ticketed for excessive speeding Sunday afternoon in upstate New York after state police clocked her driving 119 mph, nearly double the speed limit.

A State Police spokesman said Pirro was in a 65-mph zone when she was pulled over by a state trooper in Nichols, N.Y., for driving 54 mph above the speed limit.

“I had been driving for hours to visit my ailing 89-year-old mom and didn’t realize how fast I was driving," Pirro, a former judge, said in a statement provided by Fox News.

Okay, so I had made the comment in the Al Franken threads that what he did was in my opinion kind of like a speeding ticket whereas what Roy Moore and Donald Trump did was more like having 5 DUIs. Let me clarify a bit. What Franken did was more like going 85 in a 65. If you're nailed for going 119 in a 65, and your on screen persona is that of a tough on crime former judge who claims to understand and respect the law....... You probably should lose your job. I'm sorry, but she claims she didn't realize how fast she was driving. Are you serious? Most cars I've owned in my life won't even go up to 119 before the engine cuts out.

You think she should lose her job over a speeding ticket... Get real.

Stop driving crap cars.

Who the hell cares? Give him a ticket and move on. Speeding has nothing to do with job performance.

He's saying just the opposite - that one should not be crucified over a speeding ticket while a DUI is a different story.

Uh normally in a speeding situation no one gets hurt. Moores accusers have been hurting for years. I really do not see the analogy.

So what do you have to ingest that you don't realize you're going 119?

The fact that every other car on the highway appears to be stopped in the middle of the road should be the first clue that something's wrong....

Anyway, she probably wasn't on anything. I'm surprised they didn't simply yank her license on the spot. In many states, the officer has discretion to do that once you're 35+ over the limit (you'll still go to court, but you sure aren't driving home). But I don't know about NY specifically.

Stop driving crap cars.

So I Googled to see if I could learn what kind of car Pirro was driving. Nothing yet. I can see, though, how with the right wheels, the speed could get away from you.

This is TMZ-style "breaking news" anyway, but losing your job for a speeding ticket seems extreme. Besides, my car was built to be happy going 100+, and the occasional "spin" is good for it.

119 and driving smoothly enough "Not to realize" ;)............... Must have been the Cadillac CTS-V

LOL

I once hit 135 in my kia spectra but I was going downhill. Felt good.

I know...I know...everyone says it...but...

I dont watch Fox News. Dont know who this chick is. 1-This story actually makes me like her. 2-Not shocked a bunch of ****s are ****ting themselves over this. Because...FOX NEWS!!!!

If this were an average person they would be in jail, their vehicle impounded and at a minimum a charge of reckless driving. I seem to remember watching a show on tv and a guy passed a cop doing 120, they charged him with attempted manslaughter or some ****. Very dangerous thing to be doing if there is the possibility for a vehicle to come onto the road. It's not like she was on a deserted road out in the middle of nowhere. If a cop got her then it means she wasn't paying attention or he was hidden.

I don't much care about how fast she was going, just that she's treated like anyone else driving that recklessly on the highway. The only real problem is her expecting anyone to believe you can be going 120 in a 65 and not realize how fast you're going. You damn well better be VERY aware you're going 50-60mph faster than anyone else....

It makes you like her because she lies with the ease of a sociopath, or that she drives her car recklessly and puts everyone on the road at risk of death if they or she make the slightest mistake, such as changing lanes without noticing a crazy person going 120 came from nowhere behind them?

IMO going that fast is in fact reckless and dangerous. I've been in Germany where those kinds of speeds are pretty commonly seen, and my host drove them on occasion in a big Mercedes, but the difference is everyone on the road EXPECTS people to go that fast and so are extremely conscious about staying out of the left lane, carefully checking before changing lanes, etc.

Well, it's fair to say that Judge Pirro has been bad, very bad. But this is tabloid breaking news in any event. Maybe she'll do public penance and confess to poor judgment and reckless endangerment and all will be satisfied. Perhaps she'll do community service, learn her lesson, and preach the gospel of safe driving ever after.

Makes her human. Hell...I got my old Bonneville up to 130 and my Intruder up to 140. Pegged the speedometer on many a rental car.

That it makes you lose your pretty little head over it...hell...thats just an added bonus.

I have looked down and been going 10 or so faster than I thought, but I have never, ever, been going over 90 and not known exactly how fast I was going and had planned to do it. Not on my bikes and not in a 69 charger when I was clocked at 138. You have to plan where and when to do that crap on a public hwy. If you say you didn't know then you are admitting you were not paying attention, and therefore driving recklessly.

My vote is for a Mercedes. It is easy to drive a car fast that was built for the German highways.

I was doing 115 without realizing it once. But that was in Montana, where everything is flat and nothing changes for hundreds of miles, and there wasn't a speed limit.

Yeah, if it pisses "liberals" off then it must be a good thing. It's the kind of partisanship you're known for....

I'm sure I'll forget all about this by the time I walk the dogs in a few minutes, but I don't admire liars or people who drive recklessly and stupidly because they can kill people. If you're doing it on a deserted highway in Montana or Kansas, great, have fun. But even then, have enough respect for people not to lie to them.... "I didn't realize I was going THAT fast." Give me a break - she has a great car and she was having fun with it. Admit it and move on.

At least have the common courtesy to drive that fast on a motorcycle, where if you get in a wreck, it's just you who's going to be in several bloody pieces on the highway after it's all over.
