We watched the guy commit suicide on Fox News.
Shepard apologized all over himself.
We see nothing wrong with that.
Would you faint if you saw that?

No, I wouldn't faint. It's to be expected when news channels are covering news virtually live. We see worse than that every evening in prime time. This is no diffferent, in my opinion. I'm sure Fox didn't do it intentionally. That was quite apparent. And I'm also sure they're going to be reviewing and changing their five-second delay.

I think we as citizens are largely overly shielded from the realities of life. While I may have an emotion reaction to such things (sadness, anger, ect) at the time of the incident it does not carry a prolonged reaction with me.

Watch Mexican and Chinese TV and you will see what life is all about.

Saw it live too. Fortunately it was from a helicopter camera and wide angle. Sheps apology was heartfelt. Unfortunately we, and our kids, are desensitized to this stuff. The shoot-um-up video games and TV shows are nearly as realistic.

Wow. Can't imagine how Shepard must have been feeling.

MAN this whole thing makes me furious.

In the environment we live in today we have an upcoming political election in this country, a mideast crisis in the making. China rattling sabers at Japan, Russia making anti US alliances, this is news. Freak! Even the pentagon naming Julian Assange as an enemy of the state is news.

1. A dumbass car chase is NOT news.
2. A dumbass ending his life after the chase is NOT news.
3. A dumbass video op at FOX missing his chance to cut away is NOT news.
4. A "heartfelt splaining to do" by a jackass who gets paid 7M a year to talk about car chases is NOT NEWS.
5. ABC, and NYT and WP wagging their finger at FOX for effing up is NOT NEWS.

And if you are offended by this, you either need to turn off the TV or stop being mad at FOX. It's stupid.

Whew... I feel better,

Insane idea:

Change the channel.

But it is the only place to get Fair and Balanced news.

That should stir the bees nest.

Of all the reasons to criticize Fox News, or any cable news channels, this is most certainly not one of them. People, for some odd reasons, love live car chases and they bring big ratings. Therefore, news channels cover them. Anyone with an IQ beyond that of boiled cabbage knows that live car chases have a very good chance of having a bad ending, with people injured or dead. If you want to watch, watch. Don't cry "omg omg omg, they shouldn't have let me see that" when you finally get what you were waiting for.

Is this any worse than the best videos type shows? They show some pretty nasty stuff, and they chose to show them with no mistake.
