Fox News Barely Covers House Intel Benghazi Report Ed Henry | Mediaite

“The House Intelligence Committee says the initial assessment of the Benghazi terror attacks two years ago, that they were in fact terrorist in nature, was accurate,” Henry reported. “It says CIA and Obama administration officials later supported the incorrect scenario that the attacks were motivated by an internet video and stuck with that for several days.”

He then pivoted to a new United Nations report that says the attack was carried out by Al Qaeda, adding, “that contradicts the strenuous denials from the Obama administration.”

And that was it.

Could it have been unintentional that Fox left out the fact that it was intelligence analysts, not political appointees like Susan Rice, Ben Rhodes or others, that made the wrong call about the origin of the attack in those first few days? Or the fact that there was no “stand down” order given to a CIA response team once the attack was under way? And what about the theory that the CIA was collecting and shipping arms from Libya to Syria? Not true, according to the report.

But if you are a regular Fox News viewer who has spent the last year hearing these claims over and over again by on-air personalities, you would have absolutely no idea from Henry’s report that any of them had been determined to be false — by a Republican-led committee no less.

More and a video at the link above

Benghazi is my favorite non-scandal. It was so rife with hypocrisy, so teeming with faux conservative outrage, and was pushed soooo hard by Republicans for over two years as the scandal which will bring down the president. Then one day, POOF, it was over. There was no scandal. There was no wrong-doing. And the most vocal drum-beaters have quietly slinked away with their sad little drum sticks.

I wonder why!? Because the new report, again proved all this "scandal" to be a bunch of BS.

I wonder why!? Because the new report, again proved all this "scandal" to be a bunch of BS.

Did you actually followed the links and actually read the report ? < http://intelligence.house.gov/sites/intelligence.house.gov/files/documents/Benghazi Report.pdf > It exonerates the CIA, not the Obama administration.

Susan Rice and Obama still blamed it on a You Tube video while most informed Americans knew that Obama was politicalizing Benghazi and was derelict in his duties as Commander in Chief. The Obama administration didn't respond that night while Americans were fighting for their lives and requesting for help.

No AC-130 (Spectra) available. Why ? Obama is the CnC.

No Navy CSG or ARG in the Mediterranean , why ? Presidents Truman, Esienhower, JFK, LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush 41, Clinton and Bush 43 always had a naval presence in the Mediterranean , why not Obama ? Could it be that Obama had already stripped our military of being able to respond ?

No stand down order was issued because no order was issued to go in.

Still the Obama administration lied to the American people and blamed it on a You Tube video.

Obama refused to call it a terrorist attack.

Finding: >" A mixed group, including members of al-Qa’ida in the lands of the Islamic Maghreb (AGIM), al-Qa’ida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), al-Qa’ida in Iraq (AQI), the Muhammad Jamal Network (MJN), Ansar al-Sharia (AAS), and Abu Abaydah Ibn Jarah Battalion (UJB) participated in the attacks, along with Qadafi loyalist"<

Finding: >"The CIA received all military support that was available. Neither the CIA nor DOD denied requests for air support. One CIA security officer requested a Spectre gunship that he believed was available, but his commanding officer did not relay the request because he correctly knew the gunship was not availabl. "<

Why wasn't an AC-130 available ? Who in the **** is the CnC ?

Finding: >" Ambassador Rice’s September 16 public statements about the existence of a protest, as well as some of the underlying intelligence reports, proved to be inaccurate."<

No **** Sherlock, when hasn't the Obama administration not lied ?

Fox News Barely Covers House Intel Benghazi Report Ed Henry | Mediaite

You know Pete, I noticed something strange about that article... Did you catch it? Well the headline is an obvious critisism of Fox News for only dedicating 30 seconds of their newscast to the release of this report... The strange thing is, the writer didn't mention how much time NBC, ABC and CBS dedicated to what he obviously believes is an important, newsworthy item deserving of more than a measly 30 seconds of news time.

Well you know what I did Pete? I watched the NBC Nightly News and the CBS Evening News and do you know how much time they spent on this story? Both of them combined dedicated a whopping 0 minutes and :00 seconds of news time on this report... Maybe it has something to do with this line I copied from the 4th paragraph in the AP story:

Many of its findings echo those of six previous investigations by various congressional committees and a State Department panel.

Over at the ABC website, I couldn't get the video of World News Tonight to play on my browser, but what do you want to bet they didn't mention it either?

So tell me something Pete... If this is such an important story, why aren't you praising Fox News for reporting on it and attacking NBC and CBS because they didn't?

Their names were Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Ty Woods, and Glen Doherty.

Yes, and Benghazi drum-beaters betray their memories by using them as pawns in a fake scandal. You should be ashamed.

I am not. Those who forget that these were real human beings who died needlessly are the ones who should be ashamed.

On a more personal note, don't try to school me, whippersnapper.

On a personal note, I'll not only school you, I'll dance on your head.

Where were you when Bush was sending thousands of troops to die in Iraq based on a mountain of false evidence? Do you have those 4000+ names memorized? What about all the crippled and paralyzed vets who came home to learn that what they fought for was a big f**king lie?

And people like you still apologize for the Bush administration and have the AUDACITY to bring Obama to task on what amounts to memo note talking points. You're a disgrace.

You don't know anything about me, including what I know about returned vets, and are obviously unfamiliar with my posting history. And you aren't very reasonable either. No, I'm not going to revisit Bush and Iraq or explain the differences between Baghdad and Bengazi or 4000 and 4, and your pitiable attempt at pathos also won't work.

But I will tell you where I was in 2001 and beyond: I was a fully functioning and gainfully employed adult with children, and I didn't need to swear and otherwise be disrespectful to others because I didn't agree with their opinions.

Thank you, though, for your demonstration of your own intellectual and emotional maturity. ;)

But yours will, right? Care to list the names of the Benghzi victims again?

No, you just pretend that you care about the lives of people more than I do. You list their names as if it gives you some kind of moral superiority, when all it really does is show the kind of hypocrisy and faux outrage that I mentioned. There was no scandal. Your camp turned the Benghazi victims into political bombs to lob at the Obama administration.

Thank you, though, for your demonstration of your own intellectual and emotional maturity. ;)

I thought we were mourning dead victims? Why have you switched gears and focused on my intellectual and emotional maturity? I guess you can turn it off and on when you want to.

heh heh.
This is funny stuff.
So ... what ol' Matt on Mediaite's presentation is designed to do is to claim the CIA is totally responsible for blaming the video.
Right?
The Administration had nothing to do with it.
They were just terribly misled by the CIA.
Well, Matt could have drilled down a bit more to see that the CIA in this case is Mike Morell.
Over Petraeus' objections Morell did the final edit on the Benghazi talking points and removed any mention of "Islamic" or al-Qaeda.
At one point Morell said the FBI changed the talking points.
Petraeus testified that the CIA didn't revise the talking points and there was other testimony that it was an interagency decision.
In summary, Morell's history shows he was all over the place with his version of the development of the talking points.
He was a good widdle boy for the Administration.

Wow, Bush Derangement Syndrome must be incurable. Geesh.

As far as the OP, where does one start?
The latest report in no way closes the investigation, it simply narrows it. It doesn't come close to clearing Hillary Clinton and her State Department, nor does it make clear the involvement of the Obama re-election campaign in developing the "flawed" talking points and how much politics played a role in their dissemination. This latest report reinforces that those receiving intelligence briefings were well aware that it was al-Qaida terrorist cells responsible for the attack and they had known of their growing presence in the area for months. Which leaves one wondering why the pleas from our ambassador for more security were not immediately addressed. And during the time of the attack how inconvenient for Obama to report it was al-Qaida when he was parading around the country during his campaign for re-election telling the people "We have al-Qaida on the run".

As far as Fox not giving the story anymore time, have you seen what has happened the last couple of days? Obama's EO Amnesty and Ferguson for starters.

It is pretty funny that Fake News ignored the report.

It's ironic that FoxNews would quickly pivot to a report by the UN.

Last time I checked the GOP despised the U.N. and wanted to destroy it.

The Benghazi scandal was not big news on other networks. On Fox, it was practically 24/7 for a long period of time.

You sound horribly, embarrassingly, foolishly, misinformed.

Exactly. We need another Daryl Issa committee to investigate the investigation, cuz Lord knows, he didn't waste enough tax-payer dollars trying to nail Obama's balls to the wall. No sir. Get the hammer ready Daryl... this ain't over!11!1!!11!

One thing I've learned from conspiracy theorists of all sorts, not matter how much factual evidence is put in front of their face they still will believe the little man yelling in the back of their head.
