Fox News Has Most Viewers On All Of Cable TV In Prime Time Last Week

Excerpt

For the first time since the 2008 Election, Fox News was #1 on all of cable last week.

FNC topped USA Network (the usual #1) in prime time, with FNC averaging 3,213,000 viewers last week and USA averaging 3,194,000. No other network came close. In cable news competition, CNN ranked 22nd (980,000) and MSNBC was 25th (761,000).

Uh-huh.

That explains it allright... :rofl

You think up that one all by yourself? :rofl

It sure does. Everybody is afraid of sheeple.[/QUOTE]

Yep, especially because they can vote. You see what happened in 2008.

GO FOX!

This has got to drive the Obama administration nuts.

OKay so explain it to me.

1. FOX is considered the only conservative news voice on Cable TV. True or False?

2. All of the other cable news networks have a "liberal bias". True or False?

Now if the above two questions are answered true, doesn't it seem that if you combine all of those "liberal bias" network viewers into one network they would far outnumber the viewers of FOX News?

See what I mean? If someone created a Liberal News Network (Let's call it LNN) and all of the liberals and or Dems out there watched it, it seems LNN would have a viewership several times higher than FOX News.

And I'm not trying to be a jerk here, I'm seriously asking. Mainly because I don't understand this fetish so many people seem to have over which News Network has the most viewers.

When Fox is reporting the news, it is not left or right, it is fair and balanced. That's why when there are big things going on in the news, they get #1 in the ratings, like they did during the Massachusetts election and Haiti coverage.

Okay. That's great. But that doesn't answer my question.

I don't understand why the constant cheerleading for FOX news is necessary. If you like it, watch it. If you don't, then don't. Does it really matter in the scheme of things whether Editorial Trainwreck A or Editorial Trainwreck B is number 1.

I'm not sure how your source is spinning those numbers - averaging # of viewers per/night/per something...?? Who the hell knows?

It has nothing to do with the way real ratings are calculated:

Icarly looks to be the number 1 show. Hannity got the election night bump -- this week it will go back to being beat by WWE. Ironically, the IQ of both audiences is about the same.

I'm telling ya it's some kind of weird FOX Fetish that conservatives have. I bet every political forum on the web has at least one current thread about the viewership numbers of FOX News.

It seems to stem from a conservative's desperation to prove that they're right. Not sure about what though... I guess that the majority of the country really is conservative?

This tells me exactly how "fair and balanced" these networks really are:

Massachusetts Senate race makes Fox News a winner over USA - latimes.com

Last week's busy news menu, dominated by the Massachusetts Senate race and the Haiti earthquake, lifted the channel's daytime newscasts anchored by Bret Baier and Shepard Smith to their best ratings in recent years.

But in prime time, the network's focus was on politics far more than Haiti. According to a news analysis by the Project for Excellence in Journalism, Fox News devoted 44% of its airtime to the Senate race and 16% to Haiti.

That was the case for MSNBC's left-leaning prime-time commentators as well: The network spent 51% of its airtime on the Senate race and just 11% on Haiti. CNN chose the opposite route, devoting 67% of prime time to Haiti and 19% to the election.

Neither Fox nor MSNBC can claim to be fair and balanced. Scott Brown won. Big deal.

Nearly 150,000 dead bodies and the efforts to help the survivors is a much bigger story when we get down to what really matters. Both of those networks are so uber-politicized that they've got no perspective of what really counts.

That's not really gonna prove anyone right or wrong. All it amounts to is a really annoying and ongoing appeal to popularity fallacy.

I watch Fox News. I agree with a lot of the commentary. Whether the whole country agrees with me or not is irrelevant to me if I know I am right.

Well at least that point of view I can understand. Thank you.

WHOOAA! ...careful with who...or WHAT you are calling a conservative!

Porn is a 10 billion dollar industry in the U.S. with more viewers than all the networks combined. Does that make it better?

Fair and balanced? :rofl:rofl:rofl

No, porn is good no matter how many people watch it. Just like Fox News is bull**** no matter how many people watch it.

Never compare Porn to Fox News again. You are giving Porn a bad name.
