Why on earth would anyone take this seriously????
Is this supposed to be serious? Can you prove that he's ever stepped on a crack in a sidewalk?
Actually Barb, some of us judge people on their actions, not on who Beck claims their friends are. I have friends who are far fringe libertarians who think any regulation to business is communism and bad. Does that make me a fringe libertarian?
And you think there is even a very remote chance of that happening?? If he were even close to being that influential, he would already be a rich man. This thread should probably in the conspiracy part of the forum..
Redress, I started researching Obama when he first entered the race. I'm not sure I even watched Beck at the time. I knew a few things about his friends before Hannity even reported on Rev. Wright. It only got curiouser and curiouser when the racist card was played and no one else was covering Wright or Ayers.
We aren't talking about you having a few fringe friends. We are talking about a president who has only fringe friends. Friends who he intentionally "sought out."
When you don't know what to say, you blame Beck for filling heads with nonsense. I don't get the impression on DP that anyone takes Beck at his word. He's usually right, but it might as well be checked out because someone here will challenge it anyway.
Ya know, I watched him last night. I kept wondering how anyone could have such a burr up their butt over him being on the air. He was talking about things like love, hope, honor, charity, faith, family, empowerment,enlightenment,.....just horrible things like that.
There's a new project he wants 9/12ers to do. It involves giving bags of food and a word of encouragement to the unemployed. The man is pure evil, I tell ya..
The only conclusion I came up with, was those who hate him want the economy to crash so a new government can step in. Sounds crazy I know, but not as crazy as those who say nothing is going on and our country is safe.
Our friend, Francis Fox Piven was at the meeting with Stephen Lerner. What he is talking is pretty much from her playbook. If you want to dismiss them, go right ahead. However, I choose to remain vigilant.
An easy question to answer, but you may not like the answer. If your immediate reaction to this was a criticism of who owns the site it appeared on rather than checking into the validity of the information well, you may just be a prejudiced leftard who is afraid to confront the truth. And..., if you simply accept this at face value as true and fail to do your due diligence to validate it you may be a prejudice rightard. Either way you'd be incompetent to intelligently discuss this from any basis other than emotionally-driven ranting.Originally Posted by Mellie

Why on earth would anyone want to crash the stock market???

As of March 16, 2011, the official debt of the United States government is $14.2 trillion ($14,232,849,993,955).[1] This amounts to:
• $46,053 for every person living in the U.S.
• $121,091 for every household in the U.S.
• $302,729 for every U.S. household that pays more in federal taxes than they receive in benefits from the federal government
Publicly traded companies are legally required to account for "explicit" and "implicit" future obligations such as employee pensions and retirement benefits. The federal budget, which is the "federal government's primary financial planning and control tool," is not bound by this rule.
* As of September 30, 2010 (the end of the federal government's fiscal year), the federal government has:
• $7.3 trillion ($7,297,000,000,000) in liabilities such as federal employee retirement and veterans' benefits[10]
• $17.2 trillion ($17,195,000,000,000) in unfunded obligations for the Social Security program
• $22.8 trillion ($22,800,000,000,000) in unfunded obligations for the Medicare program
• $122 billion ($122,000,000,000) in unfunded obligations for two other "social insurance" programs called "Black Lung" and "Railroad Retirement"
These unfunded obligations are referred to as "closed group present values" and are calculated in a manner that approximates how publicly traded companies are required to calculate their debts and obligations. The figures represent how much money must be immediately placed in interest-bearing investments to cover the shortfalls between projected revenues and expenditures for all current taxpayers and beneficiaries in these programs.
When we see our government spending us into oblivion, if we don't look for the wizard behind the curtain, we're doomed. There is something going on.

Really? Only fringe friends? You can document that he has no nonfringe friends? Maybe it's just that the far right only talks bout his fringe friends and acquaintances and makes them into some conspiracy? Could it be that most his friends you have never even heard of or know about?
And I ask again, why the hangup on his friends? Why not actually judge him on what he does? Doesn't that actually make more sense. Instead of blaming him for everything you guys think are his best friends, why not just limit yourself to his words and actions?
Fool! Listen and learn Or is openmindedness and alertness still conspiracy theory to you. Conspiracy theorist has been the default shout down technique of the left since before you were born. Get a new act, this one's old and boring. FACTS ARE FACTS.Conspiracy theorists - seeing patterns where none exist.
Yes, its called people wanting to have everything and nobody wanting to pay for it.
No. It's called "politicians will promise anything to keep themselves in office."
I'm surprised that you can so easily dismiss those appalling numbers.
My distrust of Obama began with Reverend Wright.
He doesn't want a collapse of the entire economy, he wants the banking industry to be reformed and he aims to do it by organizing a middle class revolt of the current system... It's pretty much consumer activism IMO, but a union is behind it..

It's likely you could find someone "normal."
It's not possible for me to prove none existed.
But then, you knew that.
It's part of the Beck playbook. Find some wacko, and paint him as being the mainstream of those on the other side. It's really dishonest, but it is what is being done alot.
