Former NSA Director Says He Assumes Hillary's Unprotected Emails Were Being Read by Foreign Agents

They are trying to say TRUMP committed a crime? Give me a break. Plus he declassified all that stuff before he left office.

Joe Scarborough: It’s been your job to protect classified material for a very long time. This morning you wake up and you find out that the Secretary of State, for several years, had classified documents going through a server that was in an apartment loft bathroom in Denver, Colorado. Can you even begin to tell us what you would have done if you found out someone working with you while you’re at the CIA had done this?

Michael Hayden: Well, let me turn that around, Joe and ask a slightly different question. What would I have done as the director of NSA against a foreign, foreign minister who had done that? I’d move heaven and earth to access the private e-mail account of a foreign minister. And I really go after an e-mail account in which the official and the unofficial e-mails were co-mingled. You put a very juicy target out there..."I would lose all respect for a whole bunch of foreign intelligence agencies if they weren't sitting back, paging through the emails," he replied.
You know what they say about when you assume something. You make as ass out of u and me.

The difference is Hillary did something which actually harmed the national security of the United States, by exposing State Department secrets to foreign intelligence agencies for years. Who knows how many US officials China has blackmailed because of what they found. All because Hillary wanted to keep her business dealings off government servers where she couldn't erase them.
Cite, with link to reference, any actual evidence of Clinton’s carelessness that resulted in damage to our national security.

I genuinely disdain Hillary Clinton, so would be happy to see any proof you can offer. 👍

LOL a swamp creature like Hillary knows every nuance of classified information laws.
Have you ever had access to classified information? I can assure you that government officials that are not familiar with personally handling classified information definitely aren't aware of all of the nuances. It took me a couple of years to fully understand what I could and could not do when it came to handling classified information. And that is especially true for high-ranking government officials who always have aides doing stuff for them, such as the case with Hillary.

That being said, the laws make no provision for ignorance of the law. She knew what she was doing, and just did it anyway. She didn't want her dirty business on government servers with automatic back-ups of every email, even if you deleted them.
You have absolutely no way of knowing that. That's just wishful thinking on your part. And it's why you lose all credibility when discussing this topic -- your hatred of Hillary comes through loud and clear, facts be damned.

It's even possible that Trump wasn't aware of all of those boxes containing classified information when they were removed from the White House. I mean, it's not like he removed all of those documents from the White House SCIF himself. I'm sure aides did that for him. It's entirely possible he wasn't aware.

However, where Trump screwed up is not returning the documents after the DOJ notified him about the missing documents and ordered him to return the documents. That is why Trump is probably going to get in trouble over this.

There are no “nuances” to regulations/laws regarding the proper handling and safeguarding of classified materials.

Everything, from creation to destruction of classified materials has clearly delineated guidelines and requirements.

If true, you shouldn’t have been permitted access to classified materials.

Knowing the requirements for the proper handling/safeguarding of classified materials is a prerequisite to being granted access to classified materials.
And that is especially true for high-ranking government officials who always have aides doing stuff for them, such as the case with Hillary.
Government officials, depending on their background, might not know A-Z requirements, but they should be schooled by their subordinates that provide such classified materials of their individual responsibilities.

Not doing so sets the subordinate and the official up for failure. Failure that can lead to loss of clearances, and even prosecution.

blah blah blah blah blah .............. Fake Fake Fake Fake Fake

Then why didn't Trump have her prosecuted? I thought he was all about law and order. I guess he really isn't. But we already knew that.

One major fact left out was Trump had unprotected sex with a porn star while his 3rd wife was pregnant. Talk about awesome judgement.

Come on, man. Someone brand new to handling classified information does not always know all of the rules and they do make mistakes. That's what I'm referring to.

Maybe this isn't true for you, but I've worked at places that were not even legal SCIFs, but they were treated as such. The walls weren't thick enough, the wrong types of doors were being used for the SCIFs, etc. Not good.

The key word there is "should". It doesn't always happen. It probably didn't happen as well as it should have for Clinton or Trump.

Anyone that does not fully understand their responsibilities, should not have access to classified materials, period.

Not good. In the type instance you’re describing, the senior officer/official would/should request a waiver from the issuing authority.

Regs and laws aside, common sense should tell even a security novice not to store highly classified materials in a cardboard box in a basement.

And only a dishonorable person would steal government property. Especially property that, in the wrong hands, could cause exceptionally grave damage to the national security.

I'm not disagreeing with you. It's possible that Trump didn't even know that he had all of those boxes. It's not like he was the one that retrieved all of those documents from the White House SCIF or wherever they came from. That's too much work for someone as lazy as him. And he's not smart enough to know where to find the documents even if he went looking for them. There are a lot of unanswered questions.

However, Trump deserves the punishment that he gets for not returning the remaining documents when the DOJ demanded them. There is no excuse for that.

No reason to think that Trump personally gathered/boxed the classified documents, but every reason to think Trump personally selected which classified and other documents were to be taken.

Agree.

Agree again, but I don’t have any faith he will face any criminal charges for illegally taking the classified and other materials. Possibly other charges connected to the documents (potential selling to other countries, extortion of Macron, etc). Trump has proven that there is virtually no accepted norm or law that he won’t violate to benefit himself.

lol according to a porn star.

At least Trump confines himself to grown women.

Ah, more rightwing craziness, Trump has financially ripped off more people than you can count, destroyed 2 marriages and got caught cheating more than once on his 3rd wife, but yea Biden pinched a girl in the public.

LOL Youtube scrubbed the video. Here ya go.

If recall correctly, the FBI had an image of her servers and said there was no evidence they had been hacked. I suppose that doesn't mean for sure they weren't, but no one at the time found any evidence of it.

So, to me, what Michaell Hayden says about something that happened 10 years ago doesn't hold to much water. He could be equally as right as he is wrong. As was already pointed out, it was an assumption.

Trumps classified material didn't end up on a pedophiles laptop like Hillary. Remember Anthony's Wiener.
Trumps classified material didn't end up being distributed by Wiki Leaks either.
So we see the left's hypocritical double standard again.

NARA was already at Trumps house months before. Even asked him to put a different lock on the storage. So why the hell didn't they say anything about the classified documents then. Especially if it was so serious that they FBI had to raid his home. Personally I think it was the beginning of the set up for a raid on his home later.

Back on topic.

The Lincoln Project is a conservative group, which has long opposed Trump and his Republican allies. It issued a strongly worded statement late on Tuesday following the primary defeat of Wyoming Representative Liz Cheney.

Trump Republicans have largely abondoned conservative principles. The statement essentially said that the Republican Party is no longer a conservative party. It is something else entirely.

Tonight, the nation marks the end of the Republican Party. What remains shares the name and branding of the traditional GOP, but is in fact an authoritarian nationalist cult dedicated only to Donald Trump.

In 2016, Vladimir Putin helped Trump become our President.

"The [Republican] Senate Intelligence Committee reaffirmed its support for the U.S. intelligence community’s conclusion that the Russian government interfered in the 2016 presidential election with the goal of putting Donald Trump in the Oval Office." https://www.politico.com/news/2020/...rms-russia-aimed-to-help-trump-in-2016-198171

The cult members don't care. Most of the uninformed educationally challenged members don't know of Putin's role in 2016.

Putin is pleased with his choice because our nation is in turmoil as the former President is embroiled in a number of investigations. They would include White House documents, the Jan. 6 coup attempt to overthrow the elected government, civil and criminal business actions in New York, and Trump's tax returns.

The cult members don't care. Most of the uninformed educationally challenged members don't know of Trump's multiple criminal liabilities, and they don't know they are doing the bidding of the Russian dictator.

All the cult members have one thing in common. They don't know, and they don't want to know. They are not fans of reality, and, beyond the Farm Report, they rarely watch responsible news programming, believing it to be fake news because they report the difficulties faced by their cult leader, Donald Trump.

They believe. That's all they know, and that is all they want to know.

A number of reports involve Trump's many problems with the law. Trump Republicans are a no-show. They don't defend Trump. They don't support Trump.

Their support for their cult leader is based entirely on avoiding what Trump says and does.

The mystery is, why Trump? Why a man with inherited billions? Why an extreme narcissist who doesn't give a rat's ass about anyone except himself?

2016 article, the cult is scared.
