Great piece of investigative reporting where major players in the gaming industry, such as cooler master or thermal grizzly, discuss the effects of manufacturing on their US markets.
Video is long, so here are the takeaways
- pc parts manufacturers are looking at shutting down sales in the US rather than try to adjust to Trump’s policies
- compliance is in some cases impossible due to supply chains not always being visible to retailers
- companies are not planning to shift manufacturing into the US due to profit estimates taking years to achieve
- the US does not have the capacity to even build components in many cases nor is there an expectation that capacity will come online
- layoffs are expected as companies will shrink due to avoiding US markets
- no planning is occurring due to rapidly shifting policy changes
- companies are potentially looking at foreign trade zone warehouses to cross-ship products to another company or hold products to release slowly into the US at much higher prices.
