For teen girls, abortion linked to better outcomes vs. giving birth (1 Viewer)

Because we have sex drives.
Yes we all do, There is a difference though the need to act upon it. Sex is an action. Some people value it some people dont. I might value playing video games or going on a debate website more than I value sex. My drive to do it might be greater but I dont ALWAYS act upon it even though I may be "craving" it or have a "drive" to it.

So its self control and accepting consequences. Something that seems to lack at parties, or while under the influence.

It's not a "cop-out". Now, society in the past has tried to shun sex as if it's a bad thing.
Why is it disturbing?
That's not true at all. Lots of people are more open when it comes to sexual stuff now, but that doesn't make sex any less "special" that it already is. It's certainly special to me.

I say cop out, as if we say its societies fault so there is nothing we can do about it... thats an excuse, we made our children, our children is our responsibility to guide them the best we can if you throw your hands up and say theres nothing I can do because its societies fault isnt that coping out?

Disturbing, the fact that we are adding a double negative within the same sentience, (Under Age, Abortion) should that not bother anyone? Underage drinking. Underage smoking, Underage riding a roller coaster. Underage has its consequences for a reason. So underage sex as a consequence is still a consequence.

As for society shunning sex. Yes totally agreed. Its a different society, but again you can still "respect" sex without having a consequence like abortion.

Maybe some people see it as a triumph, but who gives a **** if they do? People can view sex whoever they wish. I view it as an intimate bonding experience, but that's just me.
Yes yes yes! Totally agree, I am in no way saying that ones choice of sex is wrong. I feel if they are not treating it with the respect that it deserves as pregnancy is a potential by product of sex. If you are not responsible to care for a child in the event you become pregnant, why are you NOT (and when I say you, I mean other people) not taking precautions.

Not necessarily. Certain sex acts do not lead to pregnacy. And I've only ever had sex with a girl, so I'm definitely got nothing to worry about in the pregnacy department.
Yes yes, in my other post I noted that "Reproduction" is one facet and Sex has 2 facets, 1) for reproduction, 2) for self satisfaction there is a difference! Again you have made a choice, where you dont have to worry about the pregnancy department! separate from face 1) reproduction.

Thats my point. People all have free choice (with the exceptions that I will state below) but when it comes to "Consensual" sex everyone has a choice...

Darn it Governess, I have to quote all your responses HAHAAH!!! Ok let me try this =)

OK follow on.

1) I am not against abortions period. let me get that out of the way, There are just times that the choice has to be made..... much like adoption and so forth. The risk vs reward, and with human nature there are accidents that just happen.

2) there are non consensual situations where to me are justified

3) The health and safety is the grey area.... but I have always told my wife, I love her to death....my children are equally important, but without my wife, I could never have my beautiful children. In the event that both child and mother would die...... without my wife I could never have another child with the women I love?

Anyways....... I leave it to a couple responses. as this is getting long. Also Governess more power to you for looking at this topic so maturely!

Then personal responsibility must be at the forefront.

When birth control fails...some women consider abortion personally responsible. Just because you want to control her body ....

No. And I never once in my entire life had sex without birth control.

I believe in having sex responsibly. But it's a lie to say that having an abortion isnt also responsible.

You dont compound one error with another. That's just dumb...and harmful.

Having an abortion is killing a human being and robbing them of their chance at having a happy life.

A statement just about as disconnected from reality as I've ever read here, except for the one by applejuicefool in my signature.

Abortion: it's all about "glamour and peer acceptance." :doh

They're not going to say that they had a bad experience from the abortion and you now know why.

Why would I want to control anyone's body? That some crap in your head about pro-lifers.

it is not about statistics.

Not sure what you were wanting to know, then. You asked if it was normal to abort before 18. Normal means "usual", so I was giving stats on teen abortions. If I have misunderstood you, please correct me and let me know what I got wrong.

Having an abortion is killing a human being and robbing them of their chance at having a happy life.

Or a miserable one.

It's a very responsible thing to do. Reproducing carelessly is not.

Quality of life is more important than quantity, at least some of us believe that.

They're not going to say that they had a bad experience from the abortion and you now know why.

That's your fantasy...and a bizarre one at that. I have never seen anyone relate to abortion in anything even close to those terms. Light years, from those terms.

And you're some sort of doctor??
Never said I was. Then again, the ignorance and closed mind is obvious in your posts for anyone with a modicum of intellect and integrity.

(Reuters Health) - Compared to teen mothers, girls who have an abortion before age 18 have no negative effects that carry into early adulthood, a nationwide study in Finland suggests.

Girls who had underage abortions tended to have higher educational attainment and were less likely to be dependent on welfare at age 25 compared to the girls who gave birth, the study team found.

No surprises here. I'd bet the same is for many adults who abort, especially if they are poor or in college/university.

Except for the child, right? The child was killed in the name of convenience and profit. Is that what the socialist left wants? Profit driven abortions?

Or an utterly miserable one, or turning into a mass murderer, or a conservative child molester.

This is actually a bad thing for conservatives. For them, girls doing well is a disaster. Girls are supposed to marry old men and give birth to a half-dozen children.

The Jury is out on this one, in 20 years Europe will be dominated by this kind of man who do father, not a half-dozen, but a full dozen children. They will dictate the future of ALL girls from ages 9 to 90 in Europe by then and in 30 years for the USA as well.

This is nature at work, when politicians oppose the natural order, they lose. Women bear children, men build societies its always been so and always will be.

Conspiracy theories is two doors down on the left but even they frown upon ignorant drivel.

No; the horrible thing about what you say is that you think it is true.

Read about rural white Christian America, from Colorado City, AZ to Pike County, KY, and show me where I'm wrong.
