Civil rights are irrelevant? Why am I not the least bit surprised to Liberals say that?
This helmet issue is between the University... the owners of the athletic equipment and the Athletic department...the employees of the University. The University gave it's employees an order.
What the student did or want is irrelevant. If the students wish... they can file a suit against the University for violating their 1st amendment rights.
Now you're being purposely obtuse and it's fooling nobody. School don't get to determine them, because they've already been determined. The separation of church and state extends to the fact that these schools are funded with taxpayer money. Remember Arkansas STATE Univeristy. If women don't get to have taxpayer subsidized birth control, what makes you think that football players get to use their tax payer funded uniforms for religious demonstrations? It's a two way street.

I have never ever seen the KKK relate their beliefs to Christianity or God.
The White Camelia Knights of the Ku Klux Klan is a Christian Identity Klan. I realize that most people have no understanding into what Christian Identity means.
Identity Christian simply implies that we identify our race as being the true descendants of the Israelite people. I understand that most people have been educated to believe that the jewish people are God’s chosen people. Christians have even gone as far as to call themselves judeo-christians, they become extremely hostile at the Klan whenever this subject is mentioned. But, we are followers of Christ and even if our beliefs are unpopular, they are still correct. I am constantly told that Christ was a jew. That Moses and Abraham were jews, but, this belief is incorrect.

I dont have to stop anything. That is new information...I never said it didnt exist, I said I wasnt aware of it. I'm not an expert on the KKK.

AFAIK, I have never seen or heard anything remotely Christian from the KKK. Your links showed about as much conformance the Christianity as the Westboro Church.

If someone wants to walk around with a cross on his helmet is not my problem. As long as it is completely and utterly of their own free choice and that the players/team/coaches then also respect the person who refuses to put a cross on their helmet because they think it does not symbolize what they believe.

It's probly why that USC player invented a story of heroically saving his nephew rather than admit he just fell off the balcony.
Aside from that, it's a *public university.* Courts have ruled time and again that religious symbols are forbidden. If they want to wear a damn cross so bad, they can go play for a private college.
