Oh, come on!!! Just how stupid are we??

New York food stamp recipients are shipping welfare-funded groceries to relatives in Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Haiti - NYPOST.coms

This is why I think food stamps should be similar to the WIC program, they should only be given the amount of food they actually need and the vouchers should only be good for certain periods of time,For example one voucher is good for the first week while another is good only for the 2nd week and so on. It shouldn't be a food credit card where they can buy who knows what with it.

I am sure they are just bartering and the family sends them back full of weed

This is the kind of thinking I am talking about. You don't scream "stop giving those lazy bastards food!!" You amend the program as flaws are revealed. Kudos to the conservative.:2wave:

When I opened the link to the Post I expected to read where a sting or two had caught abusers of the cards red handed- instead it was all opinion and the USDA Official was quoted on what the porgram should be- not one word confirming the food shipped was paid for with the EBT cards.

NO ONE offered any proof, the stats were about what aid is given to the Islands- not one estimate on how much abuse actually occurs.

More rabble rousing and the rabble was roused... eace
